Hidden GemPosted Jul 31, 2016
We truly enjoyed our stay at the Dunes on the Waterfront. We have stayed in various places in and around Ogunquit but had never stayed at the Dunes. We now consider it one of our favorite places and hope to go back soon with our children. It is within walking distance of the downtown area but just far enough away to be a tranquil place of peace and restoration.

A jewel. Private, old timey feel.Posted Sep 19, 2014
Pros: A down home feel.
Location: Hey, it's Ogunquit. Shops, Marginal Way, walking distance, but trolley if you get tired.
It's a private spacious compound away from road noise, close enough to the ocean to hear the surf. A barrier island separates the grounds from the ocean. Warm outdoor pool. Friendly staff.

Wonderful spot with Ocean ViewsPosted Aug 6, 2014
I felt like I had entered a totally different world when I drove onto the property. I was a little worried at first because the property was so close to the main drag of Ogunquit but was absolutely surprised to find that it felt like I was a world away from everything. The property and cottages were lovely and quiet. There were Adirondak Chairs all over to use and row boats to cross the river to the Ocean. The staff was absolutely lovely and I really can't say enough good things about this place. I was only there for one night as a little get away but would definitely recommend the Dunes on the Waterfront. I am already looking forward to going back!

disapointing.Posted Oct 8, 2013
Pros: close to the sea calm
Cons: match advertisement with reality
Location: walk on beach croquet
The room did not have 2 queen size beds as advertised. Pool was heated but closed. Low ceiling in room, felt like cheap motel. No privacy. We had to keep the curtains closed all the time.
