It’s very charming place. View is wonderful. Loved private patio. Breakfast and happy hour in cute room is nice, too. Has game boards and can make friends with other guest. Staffs are friendly and helpful.

Had to dock a store for not having the key card the day I stayed, how does that happen. I had to get the owner to let me in every time. However, I enjoyed my stay overall and their is a lot to do in this area even though it is a smaller city

This old hotel is not kept up. It smelled, the first room the door lock didn’t work. She offered an upgrade to a room with a jacuzzi that didn’t work. Then offered a room with mirror hanging off the wall, dirty ripped shower curtain. Old smelly, unclean property. Big leak and stain outside the door. Really disgusting place. We couldn’t stay. They Refused to reimburse our $400 for one night. Never been to a worse hotel anywhere in the world.

We apologize Miss, Wendy Merritt that you felt uncomfortable. But to lie and bash a hotel is not right. You prefer the Marriot which is the type you like and that is okay.

The property needs a lot of upkeep. The carpet was rough and worn out and hurt my feet with socks on. The bathroom would not flush all the way, we had to add more water. The shower tub was rusty, microwave and fridge were dirty.

Staff was very friendly and the place itself was cozy. Parking lot was difficult to maneuver around since the spots are all angled and there is only one way in and one way out.

Loved the location(can walk downtown easily), cute atmosphere and the pool area is great(hot tub jets didn’t work though). Happy hour and continental breakfast was nice. Our room the bathroom fan didn’t work, the sink leaked and wouldn’t drain. Bed was comfy but hard to sleep with outside hall lights on and no curtain (but had wooden slats). Good for a quick one night stay.

Enjoyed our stay in this quaint boutique hotel. The staff is friendly, the rooms are cozy, and the old spanish style is charming. The rooms are all decorated with unique antiques and have beautiful stained glass. Look forward to our next visit!

Room smelled of bleach upon entering but was filthy. Socks, candles, cigarette lighter, dirty napkin all found on floor. Hair could be seen in shower drain. Literally was afraid to touch anything! Room was in terrible condition: broken blinds and bed frame; uneven & dirty floor; height of furniture and appliances all awkward (extremely high bed and sink). Too much to fix! Very uncomfortable overnight work trip. Couldn't wait to leave. Please AVOID room 14 at all costs.

Lovely little place, unfortunately it was Dirty…hair and eyelashes in the sheets, we had a wet chair that I unfortunately sat on and stained my satin skirt…just felt uncomfortable but had no other choice at the time. Staff was very friendly . Wish the outcome was different

We booked the king suite with a fireplace but the fireplace did not work because they said “the handyman did not come to fix it. When I told them I booked it because it had a fireplace they said “we didn’t know you booked it because it had a fireplace.” An hour later they came to our room and told us they had a room with a fireplace that worked but we had to leave for a party and could not switch rooms. I asked they could credit us back for the fireplace not working but they have not responded.

Place looks cute from the outside but the rooms are very dated, with very dated and worn furnishings and horrible lighting inside the rooms. Was very disappointed - even considered moving to another hotel. Can't believe those are the rooms you get for almost $400 per night! I booked a suite too - but we only got what seemed to be a standard room - it was not a suite at all - just a room tiny bathroom and an old soaker tub in the corner.

The neater gave off a terrible odor (it clearly had not been serviced or cleaned) and the gas fireplace didn't work. They moved us to a different room. That was better, but still a weird room. Lots of space given over to a jacuzzi tub--but no closet for hanging clothes, poor lighting, chintzy amenities. (I've never seen such tiny bath soap.) I asked for decaf coffee and a shower cap--they weren't sure they could provide them, though they did end up delivering both. And this was an expensive room! The staff tried to be accommodating, but the room was very disappointing given the steep price.

This has been the worst hotel experience of my life!!! do yourself a favor and avoid this hotel. There was a leaking in the ceiling right over the bed, everything was wet and the managers solution was to put a bucket under the leak and even asked me if i wanted to stay in the room anyways (on a wet bed!) When I refused, they offered a room in a hotel two towns away. (This was late at night and everything on Ojai was booked for a film festival) so i went there, THE WORST HOTEL ever, dirty, everything broken and dangerous. I decided to cancel my stay and had to pay a ton of money to find a solution somewhere else since everything in town was booked. The hotel owner called me the next day to YELL at me in the most insulting way, an extremely rude and immature person, cant even believe how someone who just had their guest go through such a horrible experience has the audacity to call them the next day to yelled and insult them. She did not refunded my money for a whole week stay even though they didnt have a room for me, other than their flooded room. I also heard people saying they have had some pieces if the roof falling because of the leaks, this place is not safe! When i mentioned that the owner yelled even more. A day after someone from staff called to offer a room on a beach property(????) which i declined, all i wanted was my money back and they just refused. AVOID this place, leaks, dirty sheets, dirtier carpet, pubes in bed, blood in sheets, broken WC…

Kasey that checked us in was great very friendly and helpful. First room we were given was odd, in lobby with lock on the lobby side. We moved to a different room tv and cable not even hooked up. It is very walkable to downtown area.

Whatever you saved thru Expedia is wiped away by undisclosed fees. My room had a non functional, dirty Jacuzzi with bugs in it. No place for luggage, really. They tried to double bill me for the deposit, by saying it wasn't in the computer. I showed them that it showed up in my credit card list of charges. Yet it wasn't in THEIR computer and so wanted to run it again. The room was loud with traffic noise. The "breakfast" was interesting. They made some scrambled eggs, put it on a paper plate with another inverted paper plate on top with the label "Scrambled eggs" and just set it on the table for people to serve themselves. Temperature not maintained, not really hygienic. Overall super disappointing, particularly for what I ended up paying. Visitor beware. Stay in the cheapest room since paying for a nicer "suite" is totally not worth the poorly maintained, dirty, noisy, nonfunctional Jacuzzi you get. I feel like I was totally ripped off

I was rating the Inn, high, until there was a misrepresentation of my room cost. Casey and a second young lady RECONFIRMED they would charge my room at $115.85. But sadly, there is some nonsense about Expedia being responsible for an additional $28.75. Neither Expedia nor the Inn could explain this charge, each blaming the cost on the other. I spoke briefly to Tia at 805 570-1491, and she said she was busy , would get back, and ended the call. Manpreet Mutnejal of Expedia tried to reach the Inn, but no one answered. He said he was not responsible for the charge. Is this how the Inn and Expedia do business? Not impressive. I'm asking for a refund.

I insist you remove this review. If you READ your agreement with expedia it says you must pay property fee and tax!!! Stop trying to change the price of your stay. It was a very low rate to begin with so trying to stay for less and harassing everyone makes us not want to have you back!!!

The hotel was not up to standard. There were drewers missing. we originally booked a king bed but were giving two twins. my fiance' and I could not even use the jacuzzi in the room because the dials were broken. It was not a relaxing and there was horrible moldy smell.

Our room was more like a walk-in closet and the bathroom was full off spiderwebs. I paid over $400.00 for this room which the office staff told me that they only charge $250.00 for this room when you book it through their website. Expedia overcharged me for this room and will never use your services again.
