Hotel Mahaina is located just a 5 minute drive from the Churaumi Aquarium. The exterior of the hotel looks a bit old, but the interior is clean. We booked a Japanese-Western style room which is very spacious and overlooks the sea. The onsen is located in another building and accessible via a link bridge from the building we were staying at. There is only one main onsen pool, so it is a bit small.

+ Double upgrade to Ocean Family Room for our 10D9N stay + Conscientious Life guard stand on duty upon seeing my 7 year old daughter enter the indoor warm water swimming pool. That's a very good place to spend her energy on a rainy day. + Every day of our stay, very young and energetic young house cleaning staffs first tidied up our room, then entered the friendly and senior house cleaning Aunties who inspected everything and replenished towels, drinking water, hotel guest attires and supplies to the room. The senior Aunties were so approachable and friendly to chat with. + The hotel standby so many umbrellas for hotel guests on rainy days. That's very thoughtful and nice gesture. + My family love the hair conditioner with honey smell. + Loves the lychee and sweet pineapples on breakfast buffet table. - Kitchenette in the room. However, will have to rent utensils separately. Will be good if there is at least basic set of simple utensils like spoon, fork, cutter knives, fruit knives, plates and bowls in place. Also simple detergent, sponge for washing the glasses. - Oden on breakfast table had soft tender pork on first few days, and then not more on the last few days. Would be tip top if we could enjoy more of the soft tender pork in the Oden.

Stayed at the Tower Block. Although it’s quite an old property , the room were stayed in was clean and spacious. Staff were helpful and there’s food conveniently located nearby.
