Excellent hotel close to everything in Norman

Posted Nov 23, 2015
Pros: EVERYTHING!!
Cons: Not sure anything could be improved.
Location: Close to OU, WalMart, Restaurants, shopping areas, and souvenir shops. Easy access off of I35 - in spite of hwy. construction.
We had very good experience. EVERYONE at the hotel/restaurant/cleaning people was very friendly and accommodating. There is OU memorabilia ALL over the walls of Sooner Legands and we spent a lot of time, just looking and enjoying going down "memory Lane" with the pictures of Bud Wilkinson, Barry Switzer, Bob Stoops.........and the teams involved. The rooms were VERY clean and roomy. We will stay there again. It is our hotel of choice when we go to Norman, Oklahoma :-) We had a VERY good buffet breakfast and many choices of hot and cold food.

Just adequate

Posted Nov 9, 2015 on Hotels
Shocked by the outside condition we were leery to go inside. the Lobby and halls weren't much better and more like a 2* motel. we had a long trek down slightly stinky halls although the photo's of old football stars distracted us. the key didn't work and we had to wait for the receptionist to run us up a few more to try. the room was nicer than the halls. the bedding was new and clean and was adequate for a good nights sleep. The bathroom was very small, hair dryer too weak to use and the floor in bath slightly dirty. the buffet was ok. No one there to greet us. Every table was dirty (not wiped) except one and the restaurant had a dark, lounge feel. When we returned to get our things the keys didn't work again and we had to go down to get a new one - at the other side of the motel. I wouldn't rate it 3*. more like 2+. I didn't like that they charged my card for the full price + incedentals when we arrived. I still haven't seen the credit and it's been 4 days. I guess they are used to teams and possibly irresponsible college crowds? Didn't make us feel welcome. It was a nice shot at trying a local place but will stay at a safe chain next time.

Don't expect much then you will be happy

Restaurant is AWFUL! Worst breakfast ever. Even being free it was overpriced. Every vending machine was broken. The front desk clerk knew it too.

OU

If you have any interest in Oklahoma history this hotel is a must. Appears to have been recently updated. You want to walk all the halls and review the pictures of previous teams and athletes.

Great place to stay for OU events

My brothers and I found the hotel to be a great place to stay while attending an OU football game. Prices were reasonable, staff very helpful and food was excellent. We will be back next year!

Nice building with lots of OU memorabilia

Lots of trash in floor, rooms we're very uncomfortable as far as air conditioning. All the cool air stayed on 1st floor 2nd floor felt like a sauna. Be careful if the maids are sweeping they will trip you with the vacuum cord. I'm a huge sooner fan so I dealt with things that were wrong

BOOMER! First win of the season!

Posted Sep 8, 2015 on Hotels
Came for the first OU football game of the season against Akron. The Sooners did not disappoint, nor did the Sooners Legends Hotel. Great room with short drive to the campus and stadium. Beds were very comfortable and AC was great! The hot breakfast each morning was very good and always different each morning. A memorable bonus...our 10 year son met a man at the hotel who was on the 1955 OU National Championship team. He showed our son his Championship ring and allowed him to wear it. Will definitely return.
