Good Budget Hotel

Posted Jan 13, 2018
Pros: Price and location are very good.
Cons: Bar could be open on Sunday evening.
Location: Very close to town center bars/shops.
Excellent value for money. Good location, clean and comfortable. Breakfast good. I would stay here again if in the area.

Decent hotel in an ideal location.

Posted Dec 27, 2017
Stayed for 3 nights a few days before Xmas. Whilst the hotel is by no means luxurious, it's fine if you're not that bothered about where you stay. Room was quiet, clean and comfortable. It did have an odd eggy smell but you forget about it after a couple of mins. WiFi was average at best, but the breakfast spread was pretty good. Hotel staff were fine. Front Desk spoke English and let us store our bags securely after check-out. House Keeping did have a tendacy to walk in on you in the morning but, if you're not bothered about being caught naked for a brief moment, there's no issue. Hotel is particularly conveniently located; less than 5 minutes from the main train station and about 2 minutes to the cathedral. Cheap and relatively cheerful - would stay again.

close to station in interesting area

Posted Dec 22, 2017
Pros: General feel.
Cons: Could have a table in the room so one can sit at it and work on a computer.
It was not clear how to get to the hotel though I knew from the map it was close to the station and walkable, so I had to take a taxi from the wrong side of this station which is very large. Situation is excellent and exactly what I like.

Hotel close to city centre

Posted Dec 15, 2017
Pros: Closeness to City centre and Railway station
Cons: Needs an overhaul, even the lighted sign outside only half wored.
Location: Very close to shopping district, bars and Christmas Markets
Though close to city centre, hotel was very basic. Room was adequate but needed freshening up. Definitely not the * given by Expedia. Room was dated, furniture was basic and needed replacing. Room was cleaned each day, cleaning staff were thorough. Breakfast was very basic, same every day.

5 mins walk to centre

Posted Dec 13, 2017
Pros: Near to centre. Friendly staff.
Cons: triple glaze windows at front of hotel to cut out some of traffic noise.
Location: 5 mins from Cathedral, The Rhine, Ludwig museum. 20 mins from plenty of museums.
Easy to find from Cologne main railway station. Comfy rooms. shower gel, soap, shower cap, shoe shine, hairdryer provided. Recommend taking ear plugs as rooms on the front have rail and car traffic noise. decent breakfast. Hotel staff brilliant and helpful. no language problems.

Good Hotel - close to Cologne centre

Posted Dec 13, 2017
Good hotel, clean and comfortable. Loses marks for no tea and coffee facilities in room and no room service for this. Also unusual room layout, no mirror or dressing table in bedroom and no curtains (only metal coloured blinds). To just add these small items would make the room a lot more comfortable. Reception staff very helpful and in particular the night staff who made sure we got our taxi at a very early hour.

Close to station and city centre

Posted Dec 2, 2017
Pros: Centrally located
Cons: Tea making in rooms
Location: Close to city centre. Plenty of shops. Walking distance to Chocolate museum and Cologne triangle which is across the river.
Centrally located hotel. Room was clean with fresh towels every day. There was no shampoo or conditioner only liquid soap. However shower caps and shoe shine were provided. The reception staff were very helpful. The only downside was no tea making facilities in the room. Breakfast was cold buffet but more than enough to choose from.
