Pros: Is one block away from the metro station, period.
Cons: Refurbishing the room and teach a bit of courtesy to the ladies at the front desk, they can be rude even if they are smiling when they are talking
Location: Metro station and a few coffee shops are close. Clubs are also very close, but don´t expect something fancy.
Ladies at the front desk have a sort of "dry" attitude and not very welcoming, nor friendly, which was an attitude only they had with me because before that they (around 5 of them) were happily chatting one to each other. That sets the tone when you first enter the hotel. The facilities are dated (besides the spa and gym that seem to be brand new. The gym is very complete). The appearance of my room was OK and the bed really comfortable, but the bathroom was disgusting... finding moho / old like stains in the WC was really gross. Also when I requested to change my room because the one they gave me was facing the street where all the clubs were, the only solution from the front desk was to call again the next day as there was no availability that night... of course with the same attitude they have... I wonder if it is too difficult to take note and look for a room and get back to the host. At the end are not you paying for service? Their attitude was always like trying not to deal with anything. Additionally if you don´t smoke, think twice before booking in this hotel because even smoker and non-smoker areas are separated, you can still smell it. Overall I believe this hotel is not worth the money, if you want clubbing and don´t care too much about the status of bathrooms this is a good spot, otherwise you should move to another area and you will probably find a quieter and cleaner room.

Good location for shops & places of interest.

Pros: The location was good for Cologne Messe, shops, restaurants, transport & easy access to the airport.
Cons: More attention to detail in the housekeeping department, and more customer courtesy from some of the older barstaff.
Location: Easy for public transport and taxis. A few minutes from The Dom and many places of interest.
Our stay at the Lindner Hotel this time left something to be desired.First of all the fridge didn't work for 2 of our 3 days there. I must say the gentleman from Maintenance was very helpful, and showed real interest in putting things right. It was eventually replaced. We had to run the bathroom tap for at least half an hour, before we got hot water. When I reported this to reception that night, I was told "well you will just have to run it for another half an hour". The guy from Maintenance came the following morning, but the water was hot, because it had been left running for over half an hour. There was no handwashing gel or soap by the basin, so we had to use the dispenser in the shower, which was empty on the second day, and not replaced. We arrived there on the Sunday, and the following day, I went to the bar to get some ice for the the room, and suddenly became invisible. A man & a woman were sitting there (staff), and neither seem to even make eye contact.The lady was on her mobile, and the man was on the landline. I stood there for a while, then just left in disbelief. The staff at Reception were very friendly, polite & professional.

Great location but in need of some TLC

Pros: Location and breakfast
Cons: Drinks of any description in the rooms, a wifi upgrade and updating the rooms, or at least maintaining them properly.
Location: Perfect for exploring the city with all of the main attractions, shopping streets and bars/restaurants in easy walking distance.
Perfect location for where I wanted to be in the city, a minute's walk to the Underground station and great for exploring the trendy streets just south of the hotel. Check-in was a painfully slow process as the trainee (possibly his first day..?) didn't seem to have adequate systems knowledge. I was impressed by the lobby and adjacent bar and restaurant but was disappointed to arrive in my room, which was looking rather tired, the bathroom especially with loose/cracked tiles and some dirty grouting (during my stay I also noticed some creepy crawlies emerging from under the bath, which looked like silverfish). The bed though was extremely comfortable but what really annoyed me about the room was that there was nothing to drink in it; the mini bar was empty, no tea/coffee making facilities and not even a complementary bottle of water - very poor at this price level. Wifi throughout the hotel was so painfully slow that I gave up and relied on 4G instead. I had asked for a quiet room at the rear, which I preferred to being on the busy street at the front, but was awakened in the night by night-staff taking a cigarette break outside in the yard beneath my room. Breakfast in the restaurant though was delightful in lovely surroundings with an excellent buffet. Just a little attention could really raise the standard af this well located hotel.

Beware of your bank account

Paid in full for the 5 day stay when booking made. However when checking my bank account found they were charging me again on a daily basis while staying there. Still going thru the nightmare of getting charges reversed. They have now charged for 9 individual days of which 7 reversed and as the last 2 days charged were 3 July (booked out 2 nd) wonder when this agony will finish. Not only this - paid for a twin bedded room and given a double bed - aircon did not function the first night even after staff attempted to rectify so got little sleep in the heat of summer and they only offered to change my room after making us suffer for the night.

Great hotel- but .....

Lovely hotel, great staff, good breakfast.... but... don't stay in the rooms across from the nightclubs/ bars😳 Noisy until the early hours😉

Comfy bed, clean, nice coffee machine in the room, fantastic breakfast area and breakfast!! 15min walk to the river where there is lots going on!
