Traditional elegant hotel

Posted Feb 17, 2018
The staff and service at the hotel were great. It is decorated in classic Italian style and is very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed sitting on the rooftop patio and taking in the view of the city. The patio is not open for service in the winter months, so we brought our own bottle of wine up with us to enjoy. The breakfast is also very good.

Clean old school hotel on quiet side of Florence

Posted Sep 21, 2017
Location: Santa Maria del Carmine (with the Brancacci Chapel) Giardini dei Boboli Climb up to Piazzale Michelangelo / San Miniato
The hotel is set in what I imagine to be a classic Florentine palace, full of antiques and beautiful high ceilings, a courtyard with plants (where you sit down), and a terrace with a breathtaking view (where you can have high quality drinks and snacks in the evening). Everything was immaculately clean and everything worked (shower, air conditioning, etc), the staff were very polite, and breakfast is plentiful. The fact that it is on the other side of the river, in the Oltrarno area, also makes is quieter than if it was in central Florence. However, we found the overall experience a bit impersonal. This is nothing to do with the quality of the hotel, breakfast or staff, but instead the overall ambiance of it. It feels like quite an old school hotel, perhaps it's the fact that the building feels a bit distant and grandiose that makes it not particularly warm, cosy or friendly. Would say it probably suits an older couple rather than young.

Fabulous Florence break away

Posted Sep 18, 2017
Pros: I Loved Everything about this hotel. Full of character, five star service,Amazing friendly staff who go out of their way to assist you.
Cons: Nothing could improve this hotel. I can't believe we got to stay here at Such a Great price.
Location: Great location, restaurants, shops ,the river and bridges a few minutes walk. So much to see and do.
Having Always wanted to visit Florence I booked this package for myself and a friend. Wasn't disappointed one bit. Beautiful city filled with Everything I love. Culture, shops, great restaurants. Florence really does have a great friendly feel about it,busy as it was I'm pleased I booked a September break as I'm sure visiting in the height of summer would be heaving!!!! Shall return for sure.

Elegant but ...

Posted Aug 24, 2017 on Orbitz
Pros: Roof bar/cafe
Cons: Functioning of the toilet
Location: Very close to many Florence sites
A truly elegant hotel with a special highlight being the roof bar/cafe. However, multiple times we asked to have the toilet fixed as it would not properly flush and during our stay it never did get fixed.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review, we are happy to read that you enjoyed the Hotel and especially our roof top bar. Concerning the toilet flushing, unfortunately most of the plumbers were on holiday during the period of your visit and we were not able to fix the toilet properly in time. We hope you will come back to Florence soon and that you will give to the Palazzo a second chance to impress you. Best regards, Francesca Di Marco
