One of the few good hotel options in Olympia

Posted Aug 18, 2017
Great quiet location, easy access to hotel off 101 just west of I-5. Recommend paying in advance for the breakfast as well. Good price and short drive to downtown or anywhere in area. Was surprised at how few hotel/motel options available in area, but definitely like this location and this recently upgraded hotel (except for no check-in lobby desk, only a staffer with a e-tablet).

nice location/surrounding

Posted Aug 10, 2017
Pros: interior design of the lobby and restaurant and view
Cons: bathroom layout
Location: we didn't really get the chance to drive around the area. we discovered that there was a food chain nearby-- in case their breakfast time is too late
you could see Mt. Rainier from the hotel! the restaurant/bar was nicely designed. it has a nice view. breakfast was not bad -- the coffee was good. service was superb!

Lobby nice, rooms shabby

Posted Aug 7, 2017
Pros: The free 8 oz espresso was great!
Cons: Remodel the room with new carpet and new furniture.
Location: Great location.
The hotel has a nice feel to in when you enter from the lobby. However, it quickly becomes apparent that remodel of the rooms was botched. The laminate flooring has an echo when you walk and does not feel/look clean. The bed was comfortable and the TV was new, but the furniture was dated and worn. My wife and I did not feel comfortable staying in this room.

Very friendly and inviting

Posted Aug 2, 2017
The staff here were incredibly welcoming and friendly. They offer a free coffee drink in the lobby per person and go out of their way to make sure your stay is pleasant. Lobby is great. Rooms are a little dated and the bed wasn't great, but the AC unit is quiet and the room was clean. I would stay here again.

Happiness stops after the front entrance

Posted Aug 1, 2017
It was a great looking hotel when we were booking. The check-in process was innovative, as they eliminated the typical desk and had a staff greeting you at the front door. It was causal and easy. The front entry looked completely renovated and awesome. The goodness stopped here unfortunately. The first sign of the state of the hotel was the spiderwebs and dirty floors in the corridors. Our room was very spacious, but it was sparse and awkwardly arranged. The floor was sticky and yucky. There was no towel bar in the bathroom so all our towels were piled up. There was no coffee machine in the room. It's obvious that when the hotel was renovated, the money was spent on the front entry and not on anything else. This is officially a 3-star hotel, but in our opinion, should be a 2.5 (based on everything except the front entry).

They put us in the basement. Room was not set up for 5 people. When I asked for a cot it took them 45 mins. After us calling three times. They said that Expedia doesn't tell them the number of people so that's why the room wasn't ready for 5 people. No directory of where things are at the hotel. We were given our key and that's it. Nothing in the room either. My husband and I went exploring to find the pool. The gym was smaller than our room. No AC. I went for one run on the treadmill and way too hot. The only good thing was parking and the pool wasn't bad. But not washroom close by. We had to go back inside on the second floor, close to the bar. Unless there was one closer we wouldn't have known.

Lovely relaxing place!

Posted Jul 29, 2017
Pros: The location, the check in process and helpful staff.
Cons: no
Location: We brought our bikes and enjoyed a wonderful ride around the Capitol Lake. Gorgeous!
We loved the refreshed and renewed atmosphere of the RL! Having stayed there several times in the past, this is such an improvement. Have to say the Red Lion in Salem, from where we had been the day before was not such an experience. I applaud the brand for these upgrades! The room remodel is convenient and great.

It's in a beautiful area. The hotel is gorgeous and well maintained. Beds are super comfortable. Only downside is room service clean up they don't switch the bed sheets and towels when dirty. Also sometimes they forget to take out trash.
