disappointing stay

Posted Sep 23, 2017
Shower wouldn't work in the morning, and when I called front desk, no answer. When I told them about it at checkout time, little interest in making it up to me. Disappointing.

Convenient location, cute hotel

Posted Sep 19, 2017
Pros: Close to nearby attractions
Cons: Hire more staff and train them for whatever position it is that they will be working.
Location: Beautiful grounds of the Capitol Building ...an absolute must see. Downtown 4th street has lots of shops/bars etc.. just don't go at night.
Not what we expected but it was good for the time we spent in Washington. Staff is friendly but the hotel doesn't seem to have enough staff nor do they give them proper instruction on operations. This place could really be amazing if they had proper management and communication. Our room was nice but was in front of the pool and across the hallway from our front door was a major conference room that was being used almost the entire time. They obviously have a lot of conventions for businesses but it makes for a not so relaxing stay when on vacation. It is a very pretty location near the capitol building but you will not be able to see the water or the building from the hotel. We were told there are rooms that you can pay extra for to get that view but when we checked in we were informed that the hotel sits too densely in the trees to see those things so we paid for an upgrade that didn't quite exist. The young woman working the desk had included a few breakfasts to make up for it. There is a small portion of water that can be viewed from the restaurant and some rooms. Our bartender the first night was great. He was very attentive and had perfect recommendations of menu items and draft beers to try.

Good, but not great

Posted Sep 18, 2017
Overall, the hotel is clean, modern, and the staff is great to work with. Pros: Clean, modern, and friendly. Cons: Noisy - If you are a light sleeper, do not accept a room in the 100 level. A bit understaffed - at 9:30pm on a Saturday evening, half the bar staff clocked out. Not all of the customers had been served yet. I'm not sure the price point of this hotel is accurate. I paid $230 (includes tax and fees) for a king suite. I would not feel comfortable recommending this hotel to somrone.

They don't care

Posted Sep 17, 2017
Was promised breakfast but no. They acted like they did not need the business since they were full of sport teams that paid less fir their room and got free breaks after and were served first after we waited 25 minutes. Sports teams rule there which is unfortunate

Great for a quick stop.

Posted Sep 12, 2017
Pros: The espresso machine and barista in the lobby were great! Breakfast was also delicious!
Cons: Give the poor clerks/concierges a real computer and a desk! The table/tablet setup doesn't work.
We stayed here for one night on the way from Olympic Nat'l Park to the Rainier area. My only complaint is that the poor concierge had to deal with a ridiculous setup with no front desk. Just a table and a tablet. The main computer was stashed in a room somewhere else. Some pretty important functionality for their hotel software was not available on the tablet. We checked in at almost 10:00pm and two parties plus a volleyball team walked in behind us. We had paid for a King room on Expedia and the concierge said that the tablet said all the Kings were sold out but she knew there was at least one King left but she had to work it on the main computer. So she had to run back and forth between the main computer in a room somewhere else and the table up front to get us checked in. Everybody behind us sighed and slumped into the couches in the lobby to wait. The next day, we saw another concierge doing the same thing. The company's desire to look funky and cool is definitely impeding its employees from providing great service. I have to say that the concierges that we spoke with were exceptionally friendly and competent. It appears upper management has simply made an unwise decision about the tools they must use.

lovely wooded setting but...

Posted Sep 11, 2017
Pros: cleanliness...bed comfort
Cons: Update needed
Location: easy walk to town
The entire facility needs a re-do....The setting is exquisite, but the lobby is hard to find, the stairs leading up to the first level have worn carpet any very unwelcoming, uninviting. The bed was very comfortable, shower great...all very clean, but again, unwelcoming because of the materials used...cold,hard,outdated. Breakfast was included in a beautful room overlookng the water, but a long wait
