Washington coast and all of its glory! The outer rocks are the same as the ones on the shore, just slightly more dense. Because of erosion one day these two will be gone and the coastline will be even further inland.
I walked out about stomach deep into the ocean to get this. Set the tripod up in the water and started clicking. It's about a 20 second exposure. By the time I was done my whole body was freezing. Worth it though. Beach as accessed from the main parking lot at Kalaloch Campground. This hanging tree is barely staying aloft over the eroding sandy beach. This is actually an out copped piece of rock. I was pretty far out with my tripod at this point. Luckily the waves were small. The fog was moving in fast so I really wanted to get it before I couldn't see 10 feet. Enjoyed this sunset on the beach before getting the camping stove out and eating dinner around the fire. Such a spectacular New Years Eve sunset, I hope it bodes well for 2019! #lifeatexpedia Very large cedar tree Kalaloch campground sunset Amphitheater at Kalaloch Campground: excellent place to hear an evening ranger program.
