Nice hotel with lots of space and comfort

Posted Sep 18, 2017
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. It was very spacious and comfortable. Clean and updated. The only thing I thought was off was that room service did not come while we stayed over the 2 nights and 3 days. Also, the bed wasn't the most comfortable bed, but not bad for a hotel bed I suppose. Beautiful area and right next to Squaw Valley ski resort which was cool.

Mom's trip

Posted Sep 10, 2017
Pros: Location was fantastic.
Cons: Keep the heat down in the hallways as they were way too warm.
Location: Location was perfect. Close to Truckee, close to Tahoe city. Delicious food in nearby restaurants in the Squaw Village, hikes, and bike trails.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The grounds were kept up beautifully, and we enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi. Also, the workout room is fully equipped.

Pros: Good location. Large pool, inside and outside spas. Played table tennis each night. Good size workout area.
Good size studio condo for two adults. Good location. Closer to Squaw Village and activities than I thought when I booked.

Beautiful Summer Getaway

Posted Aug 23, 2017
This lodge was absolutely beautiful in the summertime. You. Hold tell that the peak months were in the winter however everything was just as nice in the summer. It was not crowded, the staff were great and the room was amazing! It is close to Tahoe City but you could stay here and never leave the area. There are shops and restaurants within walking distance. It was a great all around hotel!

nice location, close to trails and slopes in winte

Posted Aug 14, 2017
Pros: location
Cons: service
Location: nice mountain trail- difficult 3 hr hiking but rewarding at the end with beautiful lake and tran you could take down the mountain for free.
Hotel is quite old so floors are shaky in the hallway and also carpet smells. Rooms are nicely equipped with kitchens but not so clean. I had dust on the night stand for the entire week since I got there and cleaning stuff never cleaned it and I am allergic to dust. AC does not work and I was told it cools off at night so I can have the windows opened. however, room on 2 level is directly facing tennis courts so people playing and passing by can literally see you and talk to you through the opened window face to face. So much for privacy, although we did not have that many playing tennis- thanks God. Very noisy at night , again old floors , thin walls you can hear everything someone is doing above your floor. We had guest who arrived at night did heavy walking and shutting the doors in every cabinet including the entry door until 2 AM. really disturbing. Then there was cold water towards the end of stay for 3 days getting colder and finally on the last morning before leaving I could not take a shower- ice cold water. I guess they turned off boiler to save energy. We had no electricity for 20 min during the day and they said they knew it was going to happen but no one told us ahead of time. Overall, I will look for another hotel next time.

Thank you for noticing our great location. I am sorry you had other experience that were not enjoyably. I do hope you reached out the Front Desk to help you with the night time noise. We are more than happy to assure that it stops. The same with your cleanliness concern. We are always happy to take care of an issue.

Cons: Add cool air conditioning to the rooms.
We enjoyed staying at the Squaw Valley Lodge. Overall the service and parking space availability were great. The main thing we recommend would be to add air conditioning to make staying in the rooms more pleasant and comfortable during summer. Also offering a simple continental breakfast would be appreciated.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us at Squaw Valley Lodge! Although we do not have a full service kitchen for continental breakfast we do offer complimentary coffee in the lobby and can give some great recommendations for breakfast in The Village. We also understand it can get warmer in the summer and would be more than happy to provide you with an extra fan during your next stay. Unfortunately we do not have air conditioning, which is common for North Lake Tahoe, as we only have a handful of hot days out of the year but this is an issue that has been brought to management's attention to see what we can do to accommodate our guests better. We appreciate your feedback and look forward to having you again!

Disappointing Major Power Outage

Posted Jul 19, 2017 on Hotels
We stayed Monday-Thursday the second week of July. Evidently the property had a major unexpected power outage on Tuesday limiting amenities all over the site. We had electricity most of the daytime hours but it was out all night. There was no cable, intermittent Wi-fi, no elevators for more than 14 hours. The pool was also closed. I get that these things can happen occasionally and can't be helped but it took many hours to locate the problem before they could fix it. It made me question if they are really maintaining the facilities the way they should. My husband had limited mobility and uses a bi-pap machine to help him breathe at night so the outages caused a lot of hardships for our family which really put a damper on our stay. Our condo was very spacious with a full fridge and ice maker in the kitchen (but it didn't work during the power outage issues). We were on the second floor at the end of one of the buildings and it was quite warm during the day (no AC). The rooms would benefit from some good quality ceiling fans and more ventilation. We left our windows open at night to enjoy the cool mountain air which was fabulous. It was loud outside our window at times during the night. On Wednesday we took the tram up to high camp which was gorgeous and well worth the cost.

Thank you for taking the time to review us Christine, we are glad that despite the power outage you were able to enjoy the room as well as the fresh mountain air. Unfortunately we were not aware the power outage was going to happen, and it did happen to the Squaw area and not just our property, leaving matters out of our control. We were able to get assistance but yes, the work did take much longer than expected. We apologize for this inconvenience and should we have been aware of your situation we would have certainly done our best to assist and find appropriate accommodations for you. At Squaw Valley Lodge our maintenance team works diligently to ensure all aspects of our property are up to date, we understand it is warmer in the summer and will always provide extra box fans upon request. Thank you again for taking the time to provide us feedback so we can better ourselves, especially during these unexpected situations, in the future. We hope to see you again at Squaw Valley Lodge!
