The staff where very nice and helpful. The area doesn't look safe, however we walk around even night time and we didn't have any issues.

Due to booking last minute and only staying for 2 nights, it was decent. However the bed was super hard and uncomfortable. The rooms were very small which made you want to visit the area around but it’s not a good walking area due to the drug users outside which is out of their control. It would have been nice to have more dining options on the rooftop eating area.

The hotel was at a good location, but that was a little bit nosey. The staffs were nice, the breakfast was good with a lot of choice of food. This hotel was age, it needs remodel and update.

Very clean hotel. Friendly staff. Excellent place. Very accommodating. Will definitely think about this hotel when we come back to Athens. Btw, breakfast is also awesome. Uber accessible and easy to find. Highly recommend and will definitely use again in the future! Thank You Golden City Hotel. You made my family’s stay in Athens very very comfortable. Definitely 5 STARS!!!!!

It is important to point out that the hotel and its facilites are up to par, however, the area where the hotel is located is full of drug users, prostitutes and homeless people.

I do like here that. Little bit around was consern about lot a homeless. It’s okay who do not out going in night time. Was good.

Nice hotel in a bad neighborhood
Very nice 3 star in a bad area of town. Staff was friendly, helpful and professional. The neighborhood was not nice at all. Even the swingshift manager warned me about the neighborhood after dark. Did not feel comfortable going out at night from the hotel for dinner, drinks, etc.

This was a terrible stay. We requested a double bed and got twin beds. The air con was broken and made a very loud noise, we told the concierge and they said they would send the technician but never did. The air con couldn't be used at night because of the noise and we hardly slept. We complained in the morning but the concierge made no note of this. In general the service was very apathetic.

Very nice hotel! Unfortunately, the Omonia Square area is quite depressed and run down at present. There are police in the area now but I would advise not to go out after dark. The breakfast was FANTASTIC!! ... it is on the 8th floor with an incredible view. Our room had a leaking bathroom above so I did not give ithe hotel a 5 star rating. In the one night we stayed, the bathroom repeatedly had water pouring in from the higher floor room. They stated they are working on the issue.

Room was small and as others pointed out the back tub is sloped with two very small areas between the top and bottom so you can't turn around. Breakfast was excellent.
