Dingy and old

Posted Dec 13, 2015
The place is dingy and old. It needs a serious need of renovation. The halls looked bad. They had plug in walls air fresheners, which did not help the underlaying smell they were trying to hide. I had to walk to the first floor along the long hall everytime I needed ice because the ice machine on my floor was missing?? The elevator was scary. It would jerk and pull like it was going to stop working. The pool was in serious need of renovation. Tiles were missing, handrails into the pool were a little loose and the ceiling tiles were old and dingy. I'm not a picky person but it felt like an episode of the twilight zone. The room itself was clean though. It was just outside that was a concern.

a dump , no other word could describe it

Pros: nothing
Cons: knock the place down
Location: good resturants
checking in I had water dripping on my head from a leak in the ceiling , then there was no hot water for showers. they kept telling us to keep trying for hot water every 15 minutes, and it never got hot(freezing cold). I want my money back.

A hotel close to Colgate University

Posted Nov 3, 2015
Pros: Nothing much except for the staff. It was also near one of the best Car Museums that I have been to. Plenty of parking. And the price was reasonable.
Cons: Change the carpeting and the beddings.
Location: The Car museum is the best.
I had to choose this hotel since the hotels close to the university were all booked. I thought the name Howard Johnsons would have had some history behind it. As we entered there was a leak in the lobby and they had the room ice buckets under the drips. The front desk person was very nice. The room and the carpeting felt dirty and old. There was some construction going on.

Ok hotel

Posted Nov 2, 2015
We picked it because it had a pool but of course it wasn't open. Three kids with nothing to do. It also did not have any breakfast available. Continental or otherwise. Very disappointed

We will never book this hotel again

Posted Oct 28, 2015
Pros: The facility it self was pleasing.
Cons: Managers customer service skills.
Location: This was a business trip, no time for sight seeing.
We booked this hotel with our company card via Expedia. Upon arrival, our employee gave his card for incidentals and the hotel charge his card for the entire stay. We contacted the hotel to dispute the charge as the room was already paid for via Expedia. We did not get any resolution with the hotel on the first 3 attempts and no one ever returned our call. Finally on the 4th try Kathy who answered the phone said a manager was not available and argued with us that we were wrong and that the hotel was canceled with Expedia and they did not charge us. We explained that we received our Amex statement and we see the charge from Expedia as well as a charge from them on two separate cards. Note: In order for the hotel to charge our employee credit card he has to be there in person as he is the only with access to this card and this was NOT the card used on Expedia. Kathy gave horrible customer service and forgot about the customer is always right, and in this case we are 100% right and the hotel is at fault. In the end, Expedia was contacted and as always they will handle this issue. Thank you Expedia as you are always willing to go the extra mile to assist your clients. We will NEVER book this hotel again.

Norwich Hotel

Posted Oct 19, 2015
Pros: The location
Cons: The decor
The location in the center of Norwich is definitely a convenience if you are visiting the area. However the facilities are sorely dated and in some areas, downright poor. The lobby had a bucket collection water from the ceiling (it wasn't raining out), with a sign indicating renovations were coming. The room was dark & dreary, with a stained bathroom sink and wallpaper that was torn & dingy. While the room cost wasn't high, I would suggest looking elsewhere until the promised renovations are completed.
