Average Hotel

Posted Jan 11, 2018
Pros: Staffs have been very friendly and helpful.
Cons: The room tidy up and the refills should be improved. More guidance for the direction from the metro station, Overamptel, to the hotel is needed.
There were three of us and therefore we had a triple room. Everything was fine except that things we needed like shampoo/shower gel, cups, and coffee were not replaced for our need. E.g. there was only one cup for a triple room. We found these things were not refilled for us each evening we came back to the hotel and therefore we had to get down to the reception again and asked for them.

Luxurious hotel

Posted Dec 8, 2017
Enjoyed our time here very much, the hotel is beyond what we expect, very luxurious. Hotel staff are very friendly just make sure when you get there you get the room you paid for as they tried to put us into a twin bed room.

Nice hotel close to the city.

Posted Nov 28, 2017
Hotel staff were keen to tell us the cheapest way to travel to the centre ( which was a 10 minute tram journey) they even had the option to travel there in one of their boats down the canal, the hotel was absolutely stunning.

Quiet, stylish and out of the centre

Posted Nov 21, 2017
Pros: Style
Cons: Room a little small/ furniture too big?
Location: Train station 5 mins away.
The hotel doesn't feel like a hotel, it is very informal from the reception desks to the style and decor. The staff are pleasant and efficient. The room was comfortable, yet unusually laid out with the bathroom opening direct onto the sleeping area with a sliding door rather than into the lobby. Not ideal if you are trying not to disturb your partner in the middle of the night. The chair and footstool seemed a little oversized, making for the most awkward tea and coffee making experience ever, however we did have a view of the Saints Klaus revellers from our room boarding their barges for the annual Procession. The hotel is a short ride from the Centraal station and easily visible when you disembark. It's a five minute walk. .

Nice hotel, however not in Amsterdam city

Posted Nov 6, 2017
Pros: The rooms and the staff
Cons: The title should not be called Amsterdam City
Location: Outside of Amsterdam city.
My experience in the hotel was overall good. The staff were pleasant, the rooms were clean with comfortable beds. However the title of the hotel was extremely misleading as it is called 'Amsterdam City' however it is in fact a 10 minute train journey from the city.

Stylish hotel conveniently located on M51 metro

Posted Oct 9, 2017
The Mercure is a beautiful space conveniently located an 8 minute walk from the M51 metro line, and thus easy access to both the touristic centretown, and airport. However the location of this hotel seems most suited to the business traveler as there are no amenities in the surrounding neighbourhood, which is mostly businesses and conference centres. The lobby and lounge area is absolutely gorgeous, decorated with sleek and cozy Scandinavian decor. A quaint corner store offers snack and small gifts, but grab-and-go breakfast options are limited. The river view, business class room room was quiet, stylish and well appointed, albeit a bit small, but with a fabulous double shower with excellent water pressure. My only concern was the bed, which was too firm. I recommend this hotel to the business traveler.
