Very dirty and gross

Posted Oct 8, 2017
The hotel was gross - moldy, dirty dingy and dated. Huge crack in ceiling, mold in bathroom, stained carpet and light fixture dangling from ceiling.

Pros: Carpeted spiral staircase, comfortable lobby, efficient helpful staff, good English.
Location: RUe des Martyrs brilliant shopping street especially fruit and fish stalls. Carousel for children, range of restaurants, vintage clothes shops.
Interesting old fashioned hotel in fascinating area of Paris, Pigalle. Staff friendly and helpful, especially when we left our iPad behind !

First time to book a hotel in the Montmartre area! The hotel's location is its strongest point. It's just minutes away from Sacre Coeur, Moulin Rouge and Place du Tertre. It's your typical acceptable temporary place of refuge while in Paris, especially for the frugal travellers!

Good location

Posted Jul 1, 2017
I spent ten nights at this hotel. With this being my 14th visit to lovely Paris, I am used to her tiny hotel rooms, but this one (#28) was something else! Had to push the bed over (away from the desk) in order to get to the window. Dried white stains on carpet near bathroom. Some evening staff were not very competent (ordering taxis, helping with internet).

Basic hotel option

Posted Apr 6, 2017 on Hotels
When booking in this budget range in a city like Paris, you can only hope to have a hotel with pleasant staff and well-maintained room. You simply won't find a room with a lot of space or amenities. In this case, the hotel scores one out of two. The staff at the front desk were very helpful and friendly, which we very much appreciated. The hotel facilities show a lot of wear, particularly the carpets. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone with strong allergies or sensitivity to dust, etc. Our room was on the first floor and faced onto the street. Between the poor sound insulation in the hotel and the street traffic, it was also quite noisy. Wifi was available, but not great.

Very reasonable hotel close to everything

Posted Aug 14, 2016
Pros: The price and the location
Location: The 9th arrondissement is the shopping district, close to Opera and the big department stores. I walked as far as the left bank and Notre Dame.
In spite of the terrible reviews some have written I found this hotel to be extremely reasonable, clean and friendly. It is not a 4 star hotel, but it is ideally located. I enjoyed my stay there and was grateful for the price I paid.
