The first room we were placed in had a dirty tub. We were then moved to a new room and the next tub still wasn’t fully cleaned because there was hair in it! I understand that prices should go up during certain times of year but if you are going to charge guests over $300 then the cleanliness of the rooms should be perfect. I was very dissatisfied. Only thing I was happy with was the pool & the breakfast.

Should have been a nice hotel on the beach, but, this hotel is under construction. The lobby is all torn up, the parking lot is full of construction containers to the point you have no were to park if you come in late. The east side of the hotel is completely torn up. No walk way, mud & dirt. Picnic table in the pool area is broke cannot use. One day all the ice machines in the hotel quit working. Construction noise day & night. Only 24 rooms have an ocean view out of probably 144 rooms. Condos on the east side so close you can't see the ocean without leaning off the balcony. Electronic locks on doors only work when they want to. We got a handicap room which is usually no problem, but when you take a shower the water from the shower runs down the curtain into the bathroom. Had to make dams out of the used towels. No one thought the handicap shower, shower curtain thing over. Last day there only one wash towel. I wouldn't go there again.

Thanks so much for the review. We are very sorry you had a lot of noise during your stay and it was an inconvenience. We also apologize about the rate issue though keep in mind the rates change daily so it does depend on when the guest reserves their room as to what rate they will pay at any given time. We sure do hope we can welcome you back for a perfect stay and we would like to make this right. If you could call our front desk, we would love to talk to you.

Construction situation

Posted May 2, 2018
Pros: The only nice thing was that it was beach front
Cons: The construction should have been taking place during a slower time of the year.
Location: The location was very good. Plenty of things to see and do
Yes, we were warned about there being construction going on but they did not warn us that the noise would be intolerable. We were put in the room closest to the construction which was extremely noisy. The could have at least had the decently of putting us in a room back a few rooms from the major construction. We were just very disappointed in the whole situation. Even the breakfast was horrible. We have stayed at many Holiday Inn Expresses and have always been quite happy, but not this time.

Hotel is under renovations inside and outside. Woke up to 2 guys in a man lift outside the window and had to walk through a construction zone to get to the pools. Took the elevator that was right outside my room to the first floor and it opened up in a construction zone. No signs but one of the staff told us that we needed to use the other elevator as we were trying to find the way out. There was nothing stated about renovations when I booked the room. Pool area had barricaded areas but could be used but the workers were walking around smoking.

Renovations ongoing.

Posted Apr 15, 2018
Great location right on beach. Wish we knew before we booked that renovations were going on. We were only guests on entire floor as all rooms were being worked on. Painters came and painted our balcony while we were there and new furniture for balcony was also delivered. In fact, we carried it in. Lots of noise, no water for 6 hours one day. No hot water one day. Construction workers were staying at hotel. They were out drinking by pool or hot tub every night. Not very family friendly in that regard. Would have been nice to be given some break on price for all the inconveniences we had to deal with. Should be nice place when everything is done.

AVOID

Where to start. They are undergoing a large renovation project- we knew this when we booked as we got an email from Expedia. I messaged with an employee from the hotel prior to our stay who assured us that by the time we visited there would just be exterior painting being done. I also verified that we would have pool and beach access prior to check in. However, when we arrived we were told that there was no bathroom to use, except the port-a-John in the parking lot. Our room was not fully finished. There was debris in the old tub, a wet and bubbled patch of drywall above the tub, and the vent/fan was hanging from the ceiling. One of our sheets had a 6 inch tear in it, the carpet was already stained, the balcony door was dirty and did not lock, the chairs on the balcony were filthy, and the hall was full of construction debris and didn’t appear to have been vacuumed recently. To get to the pool and beach, you must use the front entrance and walk through the construction zone on the side of the building where, despite the no smoking signs, the workers take their smoke breaks. On our second day, we returned to our room prior to checking out only to find that we had no hot water or any water at all in the shower. We called the front desk and they said they knew nothing about. We waited an hour and 10 minutes for them to call us back, only to let us know that the water would be off for at least two hours. No apology. They did however, agree to a full refund. Never again!

We completely understand your response to our renovations and appreciate your feedback as there is always room for improvement. With any construction we have ran into the unexpected at times and for that we are truly sorry. We are really looking forward to having a beautiful brand new building. I hope you are able to give us another chance.
