Old facility, dirty vents, awful carpetingPosted Nov 10, 2015
Pros: The staff
Cons: Gut the place, you have a great location.
Located to this hotel for a wedding where most family was staying. The staff was kind, helpful and attempting to do their job well in a facility that has not been updated in many years. The vents were very dirty and my mother and aunt use oxygen for respiratory ailments so this was very upsetting and led them to both cough a lot during our stay. Would never stay here again.

Great Hotel and wonderful staffPosted Oct 26, 2015
My wife and I booked a few days here after a business trip. Both the room and front desk were great. The kitchen was great, even making a pizza for us that wasn't on the menu. The greatest part of all though was the Valet. These guys work hard, are very knowledgeable of the surrounding area and always friendly and excited to see you. Thanks for a great stay.

Great locationPosted Oct 16, 2015
Pros: View, walkability to beach and marina, pool area and breakfast buffet
Cons: The noise transmission between rooms is horrible. You can literally hear conversations going on in the room next door.
Location: Whale watching, swim beach, marina, dining and Disney land is 30 minutes away
The hotel is right across the street from Doheny state beach and has great views. It's a little older and going through renovations to the rooms right now. You'll want to be on an upper floor. The second floor rooms are old and dated. There is a great roof top bar/lounge to watch the sunset from. The staff were very nice and accommodating. The valet's were especially nice offering up the beach chairs, umbrellas and toys/boogie boards to us when we went to the beach. Made the kid's day at the beach much more enjoyable. Also make sure to get the breakfast buffet included in your room stay! Paying $15 per person for breakfast for a family of four can get pricey fast.

this hotel could have been nice, but the workers were very loud, Air Conditioning was loud, could not get any sleep for the 2 nights of our stay, very disappointed.

Pros: The proximity to the freeway.
Cons: The bathrooms, the sitting rooms, elevators, the garages, etc. If they've been remodeling for two years, they are NOT making progress. I was hoping
Location: Its a short drive to the Harbor, good restaurants, freeway on/off ramps.
We stayed at this hotel a few years ago and were told that they were going through a renovation and that the things we were unhappy with then would be resolved when the renovation was completed . It wasn't. We were just as unhappy this time. The bathroom is ridiculous there's no place to set down a hairbrush, makeup toothbrush, no counterpace, the shower door opens into the already crowded room and drips water all over the floor (dangerous). The sinks are attractive but not practical you could get a concussion washing your face the faucet is so high. Our view of the beach was impeded by an empty lot with maintenance vehicles rushing in and out. Valet was unavailable to park our cars even though we paid for it $44.00 to self park one night.

DisappointingPosted Oct 5, 2015
Pros: Spacious room. Close to the beach.
Cons: Honor a guest's request. Free wi-fi.
I had reserved an oceanside room weeks in advance. Called to confirm my oceanside room 2 days before my arrival. Did I get an oceanside room? No. After making a small fuss, I was able to get a room of the busy streets, but if I leaned out of my balcony, I could see the ocean. So, instead of waves crashing, I got cars streaming by. Ruined my entire weekend. This is not a hotel... it is a motel.

DoubleTree Doheny a 'do'!Posted Sep 22, 2015
Facility needs to be updated badly! Overall, rooms are comfortable and clean. Some rooms that havent been 'renovated' yet, have no electric outlet in the bathroom! This is a necessity for me to dry my hair and use other grooming appliances. The staff is very accommodating, and a room change was made. A renovated room was available but what if one was not available- it made me think about how my stay would have been.
