Lovely hotel, great staff, perfect location

The Shorebreak was our last stop of our honeymoon. We wanted something close to the beach (tick), relaxed (tick) with a nice character too it (again, tick).
A lovely hotel, staff that we're very laid back but very accommodating and happy to advise of all the things that the hotel offers on your check in (beach brollies & towels, bicycles and free wine hour 5 till 6).
We booked a King bed, balcony & sea view (partial in my view but we could see it) and were given room 401 (top floor). The room had everything we needed, and if we didn't have it then the hotel were more than happy to provide or lend. A comfortable king bed, good room servicing and our only slight gripe with the room was that the noise from what must be the air conditioning units on the roof could be heard humming sometimes at night. It wasn't loud enough for us to complain and move rooms, but if you sleep light then maybe ask to be on a lower floor.
Our one gripe (and one we knew as we booked) is that the parking here is expensive ($35 per day valet). There doesn't seem to be a cheap option available either so it's either accept it or risk parking in the local neighbourhood. We took the option of using the valet, who were great and brought our car round very quickly when asked.
I'd happily recommend this hotel to friends and family, it was the perfect, relaxed hotel that we needed after a hectic week or so of travelling down the west coast. I'd also happily book another Kimpton hotel based on this experience
