Quaint and Charming

Posted Dec 1, 2016
Cons: Beds.
I have stayed at LCDC twice now and I really find it charming. The lobby has a bar and fireplace, it is a wonderful gathering spot. The rooftop lounge is fabulous, the views are just amazing. The staff are so friendly and the breakfast is great. even the K'ya bistro is wonderful, small plates menu that aren't so small and at a very reasonable price. The location is good, lots of new beach shops and restaurants. My only issue I see the size of the rooms, it is tight. When you are in the bathroom, you could sit on the toilet and have a leg in the tub and your hands in the sink. Ok I didn't my try this but really, that's how small it is. I stayed alone the first time, no problem. This time I stayed with my daughter, we were so cramped. Nowhere to put your luggage etc. the beds are small and not very comfortable. But it's hard because I do like it here.

great room, staff, and free breakfast!

Posted Oct 26, 2016
Pros: location, staff, and room were great. complimentary breakfast was yummy, and the rooftop bar was awesome.
Cons: there was live music both nights we were there, which could have been noisy. after we turned on the room's AC, the noise didn't bother us after that.
Location: beach, restaurants, shops

Old dark loud and unfortunate.

Posted Oct 17, 2016
The room was very dark and the kind of room you don't feel comfortable taking your shoes off which in itself is an epic fail never mind that you could hear EVERYTHING happening outside the room including the flush of a toilet in the hallway that everyone from the bar used. The night clerk was very nice and tried, he showed us 5 rooms. They were all the same old dark and loud with slightly different extra awfulness.. one was near the garbage and smelled, another was right above the bar, and on it went. I have stayed in nicer lighter and cleaner hostels. Not sure how they are rated a three star hotel. The nice night clerk did tell us about the fancy rooms that the manager who would be in, in the morning, could put us in. however the manager was not there in the morning and the morning desk clerk had no interest in doing anything and made a snotty comment about us not liking the Spanish Queen, the room we booked. We checked out, moved hotels down the street and never looked back.

Great place

Cozy old world charm. We had a room with a single bed. It was adequately sized and the bathroom had been remodeled. Old appearing carved wood furniture. Fantastic roof top bar for watching the sunset.

Pros: Staff were very friendly and helpful. They gave us beach towels and deck chairs. Good location close to a quiet beach. It had a lot of character.
Cons: I found the rooftop bar a bit too noisy even during the day. I just wanted to read my book on one occasion over a coke but music was loud.
We had a great week here and were very happy with the hotel. We would definitely stay here again. Whilst rooms are a little small they are clean and the entire place has a lot of character. It was handy that we could use a nearby local gym, included in the resort fee, but since I run a lot I often went out and ran along the coast cos it's so pretty and the hills make it a good workout. There is a good 25m (or yard) local swimming pool at the High School open to the public a few minutes' drive away which I have used on a previous stay in Laguna. We didn't dine at the hotel as we ate out every night. Downtown was about a 15 minute walk.

Great location with lots of nice restaurants close

Rooftop bar looked great, however it is always busy with outside guests so we had to go over the road to mozambiques which also had a rooftop serving great food and drink. Just slightly disappointing that we couldn't use our own rooftop and think as a paying guest you should have priority.
