Nice hotel

Everything was fine , except the sofa bed was uncomfortable .

Pros: Great location
Cons: since pets are allowed, carpets need to be cleaned more often.
If you have kids watch out for the soft porn channel.

Pros: large room - bed comfortable - nice breakfast
Cons: somewhat funky smell when first come in room - make second separate switch for bathroom light without fan

Mediocre before it became dated

This is a nondescript budget motel in a nondescript area, and it has definitely seen better days. Nothing was very clean, everything was old and gunky. We love some La Quintas (like the one in Paso Robles) and enjoy the hotel chain's dog friendliness, but this one is well worth avoiding.

Our room smelled like an old ashtray

The room looked nice, but from the moment we opened the door it smelled horribly of old stale smoke. The couch bed was dirty, it took them over 45 minutes to bring us towels.

Cons: By allowing dogs in the hotel, our next room neighbor had a dog that started barking at 5-5:15 every morning.
Everything was good at the hotel except for the dogs barking late at night and very early in the morning.

Rooms were clean and housekeeping was perfect but i used the stairs to the 3rd floor my whole stay and the way i knee i was on the right floor was there was a small dog poop on the walk way near the stairs and there were many soda coffee spills and pet urine pools and some dog poop kinda made it seem like a high end hotel with some janitorial problems

Really needs an update

Cons: The room, reception, lack of amenities
Old facility really showing its age. Oddly furnished, generally an uncomfortable stay.

No Thrills!!!

Location: Close to John Wayne Airport, shopping and dining, via uber if you don't have transportation.
It's a low end hotel so don't expect much. The rooms on their face seem clean all except the carpet and furniture which reveals years and years of dirt, grim and filth! I was tempted to move over to the Embassy Suites but I was only in town for one night and so I closed my eyes and hoped for the best. First time at La Quinta and it will be my last. I prefer something a little more comfortable and less ceedy!
