Not What We Were Expecting

Posted Oct 16, 2017
I’ll start this off by saying, we loved our trip to Aruba. We ate at many wonderful restaurants, saw the beautiful sights, and soaked up the sun on the beach each day. And while this trip was fantastic our stay at the Renaissance Aruba Resort and Casino left a slight stain on the trip (no pun intended). I will not take away from the wonderful and welcoming hotel staff that greeted us, each place we went. The service on the private island however was so slow it was non-existent. It was not until our last day that a server approached us unsolicited on the beach. The hotel (we stayed in the Marina side) is beautiful as you walk in with the many shops of the lining the first floor, including a Starbucks. Even the guest room was great at first glance. It wasn’t until I sat down at the banquette that I noticed a large brown stain. And another on the duvet. The lamp shade was filthy. We didn’t say anything because some of those things could be wear and tear. The worst part of it all was that out of the 5 nights our room was not cleaned 3 of them and we had to call and housekeeping came to do it during turndown. I wouldn’t mind so much, it’s a large hotel and it happens but we were told we had our DND sign on the door which we didn’t not! I suppose it is a middle of the road hotel.

Good location, lots to do in the area. Everything is walking distance. Checking in and out went smoothly. Room is modern, clean and spacious.

Awesome staff!

What an amazing hotel and hotel staff! Everyone were so nice and helpful! They even sent us a small personal birthday cake for my moms birthday! Definitely would recommend this hotel! Also, how awesome is it they had a private beach you could access everyday and get to feed and hang out with flamingos!

Beautiful hotel with beautiful private island!

Posted Oct 9, 2017
The hotel was excellent, the people working their were very nice answered any questions and the room was very clean and cozy. The only downfall was the bar didn't have any good mixed drinks, happy hour was early though starting at 4:30. The restaurant food their was okay. Loved the private island with the flamingos they provided though, that was super convenient and free for hotel guest. A lot of shopping stores right next to hotel but no type of night life there to go out on. Overall it was a great experience and the hotel was beautiful!

Used to fantastic accommodations? Don't stay here!

Posted Oct 9, 2017
Pros: Not much; I would have left had we not paid in full in advance.
Cons: Clean it up; improve the morale and encourage the staff to interact.
Location: The town of Oranjestadt was on the marina. Cruise ship crowds arrive here. There were lots of jewelry stores; that was about it. We drove elsewhere
This place was a disappointment from start to finish. Parking attendant couldn't speak English, thus forcing us to drive in circles to find the entrance. Inside, no one greeted us; no one took our bags; check in was quick but not very welcoming. Had to find our own way to the room, lugging our own bags. Stayed in the Ocean Suites, primarily crowded with families. Room was laid out awkwardly. King bed took up the entire room; small closet, few drawers. Bathroom was small and just plain dirty. Tile on side of commode was filthy. Tried not to look at it all week. Commode layout was laughable . . . couldn't sit on it without knocking my knees into the shower door. Floor had clearly not been vacuumed in a long time. I kept an eye on a huge piece of lint and it stayed there all week. Property was not clean either. Ate breakfast one morning at the hotel and birds were everywhere on the buffet! It would only take a little effort on management's behalf to make sure that employees greet you and that the place was cleaned up daily. The whole place looked shabby and dirty. No one was ever around in the lobby or at the entrances to offer assistance with anything during the day or night. The concierge staff left at 5 p.m. The private island was nice if you were pressed for time, but we preferred to get in a car and drive over to Eagle or Palm Beaches, which were much more expansive and definitely more beautiful. The private island had a hemmed in feeling to it.

Lovely location

We stayed o our honeymoon 9 days at the Ocean Suites. + Location, Orangestaat was my favorite part of the Island and right next to the Market Place with lots of options to eat and shop. + Renaissance Island and the Flamingo beach access, the boats are going every 15 min. and the service and facilities there where awsome and new. + Convenient and affordable buffet dinner every night at the Fresco restaurant + Nice pool area - Terrible polyester bed sheets (“20%” cotton) - The shower floor tiles where literally falling apart, it looked bad and was uncomfortable showering over moving tiles. - The room was really clean when we arrived, but the daily cleaning was a little simple... they didn’t clean the bathroom counters once. With all things considered, we really liked it and would totally stay there again and recommend it.

Paradise Accommodations

Posted Oct 4, 2017
Pros: Rooms, service and amenities
Cons: earlier check in... 4p.m is pretty late to me. Most people arrive on vacation in the morning.
Location: Flamingo Island, Momba Beach, Ricardo's seafood restaurant, Palm Island- (seatrek-under water, zip lining, snorkeling, outdoor amusement park setting)
I am a new fan of this hotel! For my first stay in Aruba; I must say the hotel staff were friendly, accommodating and fun! The rooms were clean and spacious. I stayed on the marina side with the beautiful Blue Bar connected to a pretty big pool with a DJ at night. The lobby was spacious. The highlights: The shops connected to the hotel, casino, the ferry that picks you up to take you to flamingo island/iguana island! Just amazing. The food was yummy! Although I didn't see an all inclusive option; they did have the daily breakfast add on; which we purchased and it was well worth it for 20.00 per day- US dollars. Also included Champagne and the breakfast was hearty; not your typical continental breakfast! I would definitely stay again.

Don't think I would stay again

Didn't think the room was what I chose Didn't think the front desk staff was helpful on anything we asked about. The advertisement on flamingo beach was so different than what they made it seem. Was a lot further away
