We had a great stay at the Coronado Springs Resort. 2 adults and 2 children (ages 8 and 1). The hotel is undergoing renovations but they were discreet and did not interrupt our experience.
The scenery was beautiful and the resort had lots of amenities. We loved the pool area, hot tub area, outdoor dining space, and ease/speed of Disney transportation. However, there is room for improvement. The tiles in our bathroom shower were moldy and out of allignment. The room's carpet always felt somewhat moist to the touch, even though the weather was not humid. Staff was quick to respond to other requests such as a new playpen sheet or extra towels, so we were overall pleased with the service of our stay.
Something to consider when traveling with children is that the pool area does not open til 10am. There were days that we wanted to sit outside or play in the water around 7-8am before our scheduled daily activities, and didn't have that option.
The toughest factor to reconcile was the size of the resort. It was an extremely long walk to our room (think 0.5 miles from lobby) and were denied use of the rolling cart for our luggage and groceries that we needed to transport at 10pm after a long day of traveling. The hotel has multiple dining options that we were pleased with, and offers a reusable resort mug for a flat cost, but the reality of getting back to the dining area when thirsty was unrealistic, as it would be a 20+ minute roundtrip walk with the children.
