Basic hotel, house keeping needs improvement

We booked this hotel for the pool. We weren't expecting anything fancy for the rooms but wish I could say nicer things about them. First room we were in had a bad smell, it took and hour or more before the moved us, had to wait for housekeeping to come check it for over 45 min. They came and said to move rooms, and then we had to wait longer for another staff member to come and give us new keys. New room smelled better but wasn't super clean. Bathroom needs to be updated, stuff in the corners on the floor, shower tiles discolored, sink faucet wasn't connected and was loose, spider webs and tiny spider under the sink counter, tub faucet hot and cold was reversed, not impressed. Each day when housekeeping came they didn't replace the towels that they took, some days we got new ones but they never seemed to replace the wash cloths or hand towels the took. They didn't give extra toilet paper either. Good things- location to parks, the pool and grounds were very pretty- but not really clean. The kids still swam but it was pretty cold when we were there, the one heated pool was nice.
