We stayed at The Inn at Grand Glaize for a fishing trip. The views from our room were stellar. I spent the majority of my time on the balcony just staring out at the water and watching the sunrises.
The actual hotel has seen better days. I'm sure it was once the belle of Grand Glaize and with a little investment capital, hard work, and design tips, it can be the prettiest girl at the dance once again.
The service was fine. No cleaning service during our 4 night stay but that seems to be the norm in many places now days. If we needed anything, the front desk staff was always pleasant and accommodating. The room was huge by today's standards although the bathroom was small. It was very quiet, although I did see a large number of cars in the parking lot each morning, so I think they had a good number of guests staying there.
The trek to get down to the lower deck to sit by the water or enjoy the pool is steep so keep that in mind but we were there in late September so that area was really not being used much and if you book a Lakeview room, you really don't need to sit down on the lower deck area.
We did not take advantage of the on-site restaurant/bar that was open Friday-Saturday of our stay so I can't give any recommendations on that.
Overall, it was a nice, relaxing get-away. Nothing fancy. Bed was clean and comfortable. Room was outdated. Prices were fair. But I'd go back just for the view.
