The Good reviews are fake.
Absolutely terrible hotel. 50s style furniture .. the TV was a 20 inch and still took the RWY component cables. The wifi did not work AT ALL, who ever set the wifi up has never touched a network in their life. They give you a book for amenity rentals which include: Hangers (what?), Scissors (really?), nail clippers (SERIOUSLY?!!?! GROSS). I have stayed at hotels waaaaaaaaay better than this one for the same price. Terrible stay

Nice bath! Too bad it's only for men. The special New years breakfast was delicious. Location was pretty convenient although not much to do in the local area. Room was clean!

We are very sorry for female customers, but we are giving out a simple set of skin care. I'm sorry. For breakfast, the chef made a heartfelt letter of "Osechi dishes". The nearest station of our hotel is Midosuji Line "Nishinakajima Nankata Station" Hankyu "Minamata Station". It is a range of 3.4 minutes on foot. I was staying at this hotel when the earthquake hit Osaka. Very very scary. What I found unacceptable was the lack of interest from staff. No-one checked on guests, there were no evacuation procedures available and none of the furniture was secured. What was noticeable about the outcome of the earthquake was injuries from falling furniture. This hotel needs to "earthquake proof" the rooms a bit more. The hotel does need updating.

Although it was broadcasted in the hall during the earthquake, there was an incompleteness, it was broadcast only in Japanese, and I am sorry that the customer was concerned about anxiety and concern. Too far from Shin Osaka station
It's a nice hotel with friendly staff & cosy rooms. But a station away from Shin Osaka station, which is more convenient. It's in a quiet area & not many good restaurants close by.

From Shin - Osaka Station to the hotel, 1 station from Nishinakajima Minamikata Station on foot 3.4 minutes. It takes 15 minutes on foot from Shin - Osaka Station. If you go to the station, there are various shops such as Izakaya, Ramen shop, Okonomiyaki restaurant, Sushi shop and so on. It takes about 5 minutes to go there until that. Good location near to Subway and Hankyu line sta.
We enjoyed our stay and in fact check in twice during our osaka trip. Location is excellant, neat to amenities and train station ( SUBWAY and HANKYU LINE) Though hotel might seems old, however is well equipped. Great service by front desk staff and very informative and helpful!

Comfortable stay near Shin-Osaka Station
Having stayed around the same area before but in hotels a little closer to Shin-Osaka Station, I wasn't quite sure whether staying at Hotel Claiton, which was a little farther away from the station, was going to be a good choice. I'm not exactly a picky traveler, but after staying there I can say that the experience went quite well. A few highlights: Location - still in walking distance to Shin-Osaka Station, and if with luggage it is possible to use the Midosuji subway line to the Nishinakajima-Minamigata Station. Once crossing the train tracks south the hotel is a few minutes away. Overall pretty convenient, and even more so considering that there are many casual restaurants, post offices, convenience stores, and supermarkets in the immediate vicinity. Amenities - aside from usual amenities like toiletries and internet, the hotel also has an interesting 2nd floor equipped with a couple of massage chairs and a communal bath area. Overall, Hotel Claiton Shin-Osaka proved to be another hotel choice for me, should I happen to be around the area again in the future.

You just about get what you pay for
Approx 10min walk from Shin-Osaka train station. Just about doable walk with luggage. Hotel next to train tracks but trains stop running at night. Rooms are basic and show wear and tare. However, the price reflects this.

Convenient access to kansai area
The hotel is about 8 mins walk from Hankyu line Minami-kata station and 5 mins walk from Midosuji line Nishi-nakajima-minami-kata station so it is convenient to travel to kobe, kyoto and osaka. Osaka amazing pass could be purchased at the front desk which is a plus.Yet, The room is small and any large suitcases could only be opened at half. The room decor is a bit old but the housekeeping keeps it clean daily.

The hotel was extremely hard to find and is located right next to the rail system. If you are on the opposite side its difficult to navigate to a crossover. The rooms have outdated furniture almost 50s style. Tv cards had to be purchased and were very old. The bathroom was standard for japan. For the price we paid and the space availble i would NOT stay at this hotel again.

The lobby of the hotel is much more attractive than the room itself. I didn't expect anything grand, but cleanliness is my biggest concern. I stayed there for 7 nights and going back to the hotel is the last thing I want during the trip.

Great overall hotel experience
The service from this hotel was great. A comfortable place to recharge for the days ahead. Size of the room was adequate with respect to the price along with the basic amenities such as slippers, robe and hygiene items. This hotel was used by many foreigners and business types. If I wanted to go to Kyoto, I'll just walk over to Minamikata station and take the hankyu line east. If I wanted to go to Namba, I just walk over to Nishinakajiminamikata station and go south. If I wanted to go to tokyo or hiroshima, I either walked to Shin-Osaka (15min) or take the train up for a one stop. Very good location. There was a matsuya and yoshinoya nearby along with various restaurants for easy dining. Also, plentiful convenience store options. I originally chose this place due it's proximity to Shin-Osaka which made travelling between Osaka and Tokyo easy via shinkansen. For the location alone, it is well recommended if you will be travelling in the Kansai area and using this as a base.

Convenient place, but close to railway
5min walk from the subway station, quite convenient, but not many restaurants nearby. If your room faces the railway, you will likely be waken up by trains in the morning. It has a small onsen on 2/F, both indoor and outdoor, quite unexpected, as Osaka is not a place for onsen.

Shin Osaka is 15 minutes on foot, 1 station at Midosuji Subway Station, 2 stations if it is Umeda station. As the customer says, Hankyu train passes by the hotel. If you request in advance, we will as much as possible in the room opposite to the railway line. There is a large private bathroom for men on 2F. "Inner bath", "open-air. Very hard beds
Normal sized japanese room (ie smaller sized) about 15min walk from the main jr station shin osaka. A little dated but a sunny window view and nice staff. But the bed was very hard to the point of backache all day. Also the onsen is for men only which was a little disappointing.

We went to Japan for 10 days and we spend 4 day in this hotel. Staff very kind, breakfast really nice. The best; Location. 3 train stations very close - Hibashi-hihanbashi jut few steps from hotel. Room small but comfortable. If your idea is not remain in the room , this hotel is perfect. Close to imperial palace, shinshoji temple, Ginza District and 10 minutes bus to Tokyo Station (you ca take bus just in the corner).
