We had ordered food to the hotel and, after experiencing a delay getting back, the front desk staff threw the food away, referencing a vague hotel policy we were not made aware of beforehand. When we expressed our disappointment and asked for them to make this right, we were offered free breakfast for the remainder of the stay (2 days). Roughly 30 mins later, we were pleasantly surprised to be offered a 10% discount on the stay as well. Unfortunately, at check in, this was not honored due to our reservation being placed through Hotels.com. When we asked what they planned to offer in the alternative, we were told they would not do anything for us, and they took no responsibility for the misrepresentation of their staff.
