Lovely hotel - compact but with all you could need

Posted May 19, 2017
Pros: Everything - from breakfast to a super functional room
Cons: I don't have anything else to say because it was a lovely experience
Location: Super central with a tram nearby so you can easily get to the Vigeslund Park (which is beautiful) and a short walk to everything else!
From check-in to check-out, the process was really smooth. The reception desk were always super friendly and welcoming and it was always no bother for them to help us, even when it was silly questions like "Where do I take the tram?" We cannot fault how friendly the staff were! We were staying on the 7th floor - I am a light sleeper but the noise of the tram nearby was soon forgotten and I even slept without earplugs! The bedroom was compact but functional with everything you could need - hairdryer, towels, duvets, double bed, blackout curtains, TV, shower gel and shampoo. The bed itself is super comfortable and the pillows were amazing, I was always super happy to get into bed at night!

Central Oslo hotel

Posted Apr 8, 2017
We had a one night stop in oslo and stayed at scandic green. We knew the room was small but they had excellent facilities and a wonderful staff. For one night we didn't need much space. The room was very clean and quiet. Breakfast was good with many options.

Very disturbing traffic made sleeping difficult even on 7th floor. No table or desk in the room was a great disappointment.

This facility has been denominated a "hotel" but it is actually a "hostel"! It is overrated to 3.5 stars. However, since it is a hostel the star rating does not apply. The hotels.com posting is very deceitful showing pics of areas that actually does not exist. It deceives with images that cause the wrong impression of a beautiful lobby that does not exist. Actually, there is no lobby area and becomes uncomfortable since there is no chair in the room and only 2 chairs at the entrance of the hostel. The room is extremely small, does not even have a desk, chair or luggage holder. The bathroom shower has a short plastic curtain and water from shower wets the whole after a shower. The service is very poor. There is no restaurant. They serve free breakfast in the morning and close the area afterwards. This area is supposedly shown in the pictures as a lobby area. There are no amenities, not even a telephone in the room. So, if anything happens to a guest in the room there is no way to call for assistance. Oberall, it is not comfortable at all.

Hello Patricia, Thank you for providing comments to us about your stay. We apologies for the picture accuracy and will work with hotel.com to make sure that they provide the correct pictures of the hotel areas. The hotel does have a small lobby area but a large lounge where we serve breakfast, we don't have any additional service in the lounge in the afternoon and evenings but you are more than welcome to enjoy this area even after breakfast. We are currently working to improve our room facilites and a desk and chair will be available in all standard and superior rooms before the end of the month. Telephones are also being installed in all guest rooms shortly. Ones again, thank you for providing your feedback, allowing us a chance to improve our product. Best Regards, Therese Fredriksson

Great location, fantastic breakfast

Posted Jan 23, 2017
The location of the Scandic Grensen is fantastic, only two blocks from Karl Johan Gade and within easy walking distance to all of the attractions in central Oslo. Staying here is worth it for the breakfast alone, which true to Scandic style, includes a wide variety of items (and a whole separate gluten-free section). I've been to Oslo before and stayed elsewhere, but next time, would check for availability here first before booking anywhere else.

Hotel staff were great. There was some damage to a wall in the room which was a shame. Overall a very good hotel and would stay again.
