Nice hotel close to skiing and outdoor activities.

Posted Jan 23, 2017
Need the junior suite if you are staying as a family. Breakfasts are included and food is excellent. Very limited food available outside of breakfast--limited bar hours, minimal room service options. View of Oslo priceless. Great proximity to skiing etc. Regular room is adequate size for only 1-2 people.

What a view!! And a beautiful hotel.

Posted Jan 16, 2017
Pros: First of all, the view is something to check out when in Oslo. Located a little bit above the city, one can see for miles from the hotel.
Cons: There is not a lot of information in the rooms about the facilities. Not a massive problem as the reception staff are very helpful.
Location: It is about a 25-30 minute metro ride (included on oslo pass) out of town then a 10minute walk up a hill to the hotel. Worth it for the view.
Had a lovely stay here in January - it was a weekend break and definitely worth it. The hotel staff were very accommodating when part of our booking had not worked. Thank you! One of the best breakfasts that I have ever seen - and runs until 11am. The fitness suite was well equipped and the pool, although small, was good to relax in afterwards. Holmenkollen Ski Jump is a short walk away. The ski museum is fascinating and includes a trip to the top of the jump. Nearby we found another ski jump where they were practising on the Sunday. The ski simulator seems to be shut until around Feb/March time for refurbishment.

Great Norwegian experience

Posted Nov 21, 2016 on Hotels
The Spa sadly was not speaking English very well and made a mistake on the Sunday booking so in the end we could not get the massages. We were amazed by the great breakfast. The website said I will have a bathtub in the superior room which we did not and sadly the view was on the rock wall. A part from that the hotel was lovely.

Great experience. Unbelievable breakfast. Their fine dining restaurant was top notch. Nils my server was as good as any I have had in the world.

Location: Ski jump tower
The room was OK we were in the new part of the hotel. We found some spider webs in the room. The restaurant was nice but expensive

The views and food was amazing!

Posted Sep 5, 2016
Views from the room was amazing, food was outstanding to the point I had 4 plates full on the buffet which is well worth the 250nk each! Bar is very expensive at 100nk for a pint (£10) But the area was without a doubt well worth it. I shall be back in 12 months!

You need to ensure parking fees are free

Posted Sep 4, 2016 on Hotels
Overall its good experience yet the hotel didn't not make it clear that one hour & half late check out is chargeable. When l requested late check out for one hour and half they confirmed it without stating it willbe against charges. Also, the parking beneath the hotel is not for free, l stayed first stay and it was for free but my next stay 11 days later they charged me for the parking and told me, only when l checked out, there is a free parking 400 meter away down a hill. That was an act lack of professionalism and courtesy.

Beautiful hotel. Such friendly staff. Very professional and helpful. Stunning views from the hotel. Great spa facilities. Breakfast was fantastic and especially for gluten free guests. Worth every penny for the trip and the price was grwat value for money. Would happily stay again.
