Pros: All of the above.
Location: Close to shopping, tourist sights, theatre, dining and night life.
Great location. Wonderful ambience. Smiling courteous staff. Clean, comfortable rooms. These are necessities for customer satisfaction. Thank you for meeting my expectations.

Best Hotel in Ottawa!

Pros: The service, the staff, the cleanliness, the ambiance, and the architecture.
Cons: Nothing :)
Location: Literally in the heart of Ottawa within walking distance to Parliament Hill, Rideau Mall, all the museums, and World War monuments.
As always, the Fairmont never ceases to impress! They surely know how to make moments into memories; from check-in, to the stay, to check-out - It is nothing nothing but a pleasure!

More like a Howard Johnson's than a Fairmont!

This so called high end hotel was a disappointment from start to finish. The room had a terrible smell, and was badly in need of updating. For this price and this name brand, the room amenities were awful. The towels and bathrobes were old and greying and had zero plush left in them. The coffee maker burst into a cup filled with coffee grinds and I had to go searching the hotel to find a decent cup of morning coffee. Checkout was at noon but since I was taking my daughter and her friend for tea at the hotel at 12:15 pm at a cost of $150, I asked if I could check out after the tea. I was told that I would be charged for half the room rate unless I checked out in time. They finally agreed after a 29 minute discussion with the reception staff and her manager that I could check out at 2 pm. I left the tea early to get all the bags and dragged them into the restaurant where we were having tea. This is not what I would expect from a Fairmont hotel. A Howard Johnson's yes. But not a Fairmont. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Notre séjour fut bien agréable et nous avons bien apprécié l'hôtel. Belle ambiance et bon confort. Je le recommenderais a n'importe qui .

Perfect location and delightful staff

Still the grand dame of Ottawa hotels, this chateau stands in the heart of Parluament Hill and the tourist district of Ottawa. The room I stayed in had been modernized and was lovely- quiet, clean, nicely appointed. Staff were pleasant, efficient. A wonderful experience

Beautiful rooms, location and dining

The rooms were clean and comfortable, the building was in perfect walking distance of everything, and the hotel restaurant and bar were fantastic!

Amazing hotel, everything top notch.

Pros: The hotel itself is like a museum, so much history, architecture and quality.
Cons: The bar tabs could have been a little less.... :)
Location: Perfect location, shopping, plenty of pubs, restaurants, museums, parliament. All walking distance.

My room was not worth the price of 240$

I was expecting a small room but not an old room that needed paint and a refresh. An old room not super clean....I have travel around the world and for a 4.5 stars I was expecting at least a very clean room and clean walls. If I could do it again I would stayed at another hotel. I got the feeling that I got robbed.
