Dissapointed

Posted Apr 22, 2017
Our initial reaction was that the hotel was particularly dated. The room was small but did have AC and a tv. The water running in the bathroom was brown which was a worry. We raised this in our initial 'check in' review from expedia and once returned to the hotel from our dinner, the receptionist informed us that the reservoir had flooded and all the village had the amen issue with the brown water. We were given 4 bottles of water to assist us as I was unable to clean my teeth in the brown water due to being pregnant. The bed was small and particularly uncomfortable for myself (very firm mattress). The breakfast was ok, not the best that we've had on our trip of SA and the variety was very limited. We were woken up early on our morning of departure by pots and pans being crashed about in the kitchen which was just across the courtyard from our room. For the price of the stay, we were disappointed. We've stayed on other hotels during our 3 week trip that have cost either the same or less and provided a much more comfortable room and stay. The staff were very helpful and friendly though.

Pretty setting, mediocre service

Posted May 26, 2016 on Hotels
Room was very cold and the heater broken. We weren't given any orientation to the hotel on arriving or any help in departing. Maybe at that point in the trip we were used to BnB's with a friendly greeting than a hotel atmosphere. We chose the luxury room and I'm not sure how a regular room could have been smaller- there was no problem with the room layout but it was quite expensive for the quality of accommodation. The hotel is directly on the main road of town and lots of cute shops and restaurants to walk to.

Colonial style

Posted Jan 7, 2015 on Hotels
The rooms where a bit old and one had a visiting cockroach..... The garden was very nice but the pool was really dirty. The restaurant and breakfast room were both really lovely and we loved the food and the old colonial ambience. We had a great time there but think the rooms could be a bit better.
