Liar, liar, pants on fire.

Expedia said this hotel was 11 miles from the Telluride lifts. I double checked with the booking agent. I asked about shuttles to the lift, and he said that this hotel did not provide any. I asked if it was an easy drive, and if parking would be an issue. He said I could get there quickly. When I arrived after dark, I put in the hotel name and found out that it was more than another hour east in treacherous conditions. Ouray is 11 miles if you are a bird and can fly. Jan would not budge. She said she did not lie to me Expedia did. She knew that this was an ongoing problem for customers of Expedia and she went on to charge me more for the first night then what I got on Expedia. She did refund me for the other two nights. Then she had the audacity to hope that I will stay with her next time I come back. Haha. No. I had to find a room last minute in town and was grateful for the great hospitality and help of Alpine Lodging. Parking is tricky and the Town is small enough that when she park, you don't want to move your car again. They have free bus service throughout the town that comes every 15 minutes. And yet, walking was preferred as we could usually beat the bus - even in ski boots. This experience makes me not want to use Expedia again., let alone stay at this hotel.

The biggest reason for rating in overall is because the hot springs was closed for renovation, not really because of a hotel issue.

We are sorry that you were disappointed by the long planned closure of the hot springs pool. There were other options available. Had you let us know we would have been happy to let you know where you could soak.

Right by the Uncompahgre River,very comfortable,and friendly staff Tell them what you want,no problem.Thouroughly enjoyed 2 nights,we are going back soon.

Beautiful location, great staff

Pros: Location is beautiful--you can walk to all the great restaurants. Nice hot tub. Wonderful showers and fluffy, huge towels. Nice bed. Good breakfast.
Cons: Our AC wouldn't stay on all night, which kept the room a bit warm. Otherwise, no improvements.
Location: The Million Dollar Highway runs from Ouray to New Mexico, so drive that, at least to Durango. It is breathtaking.
We were on a motorcycle and had booked three rooms, but one couple cancelled at the last minute, and we couldn't get Expedia to cancel the reservation, even though we were within the window listed on the website. So I called the hotel, and she had to wait on the phone three separate times, over an hour each time, to cancel my unneeded reservation, but she did it. She did it with a smile, even.

Our room was above average and pleasantly different from typical motel rooms. The personnel made you feel welcome and created a family-like atmosphere also when having breakfast.The location and the appearance of the motel are great.

Great Stay

Hotel was in terrific shape. Gave impression of recent high quality renovation. Fine complementary breakfast. Hotel was best value on six day trip in Southern Colorado and Utah
