A very loud place to try to sleep, but otherwise a place of rich history. You do feel like you are sleeping at your grandma's house with the sounds and smells. I spent a considerable time choosing just the right room and was given one that was entirely different. The room was still ok but we would have enjoyed the experience more had we been given the room we had chosen.

It was nice. Not what i had expected, but have never stayed in a b&b before.. if you need a room with no stairs, this isn't the place. You cannot park in front of the building over night and the bacck entrance requires walking up stairs. Internet was iffy and no tv in bedroom. But if you are coming to Ouray to escape your normal routine, as we were, those really did not matter. Can't comment on breakfast, as we woke up too late for it. All in all, enjoyed our stay.

If you are planning in to stay in Ouray, this is one of the best hotels. Its so cool, clean and safe, and the stuff is so friendly. Its quiet as well. The breakfast its pretty good too. I do recommend this hotel for sure.

Very nice Victorian decor. Nice reception & staff pleasant. Be ready to go back in time. Room very very small. Poor insulation between rooms since you can hear others talking easily. Old building but needs some renovations. Squeeky stairs. Super friendly reception for breakfast.

Nice, clean property with great location. At check-in desk clerk was very accommodating. Very quiet. No TV in room. Breakfast only from 8-9 am. No one on duty after hours. When I called with emergency in the middle of the night, I was told "I'm an hour away and I'm not coming down there."

No elevator. No Air conditioning. No fridge. No micro. No TV, No handheld shower. No coffeemaker in room. No hair dryer, No counterspace in bathroom (except on the sink itself and top of toilet water flushing unit). There is a minor shelf next to the mirror. No telephone in the room. Only one nightstand lamp on one side of the bed. Plastic cups provided are not hygenic (not sealed in plastic film). Insufficient lights in room (one nightstand lamp, one mirror lamp and one table lamp in the sitting area of the room. Only the lamp by the mirror spreads (some small amount of) light outward. Some of the wall sockets do not work. When I left in the morning at 7 am no staff available to help me down the difficult stairs with my suitcase. Internet speed was good. No mold in bathroom, I have stayed in a couple of Hiltons that were quite moldy in bathroom.

This property has a wonderful location on the main street in Ouray. I am giving it two stars - one for the location and one for the kind woman who tried to serve a decent breakfast and the young gentlemen who checked us in and helped us with our TV. Cons - the bathroom door is 18" from the bed and does not cover the opening; we had no maid service; no towels to take to the hot springs; breakfast was marginal food; the air conditioning blows on the top of your head when you're in bed and it's noisy - if you turn it off and open a window you are joined by traffic noises and flies. The restaurant was closed upon arrival due to staff not showing up.

Charming, historic hotel. It was an unusually hot day so A/C would have been nice. A TV in the room would be a plus. Breakfast should start earlier than 8a and some more hot options.

The facility was lovely- quaint and full of character. It had a comfortable sitting area downstairs, but you'll likely be out enjoying the town or area. They provided breakfast. The bed and room were comfortable, though a little stuffy. They provided fans but needed an extension cord so it could pull the cool air from outside into the room. Otherwise delightful. Welcoming and helpful staff. Easy checkout.

Nice old Victorian hotel. Nicely restored with a lot of old furnishings still in use, like dressers, reupholstered furniture, etc. No TV, refrigerator, microwave, phone, or clock/radio in the room, and I didn't miss any of these things; no air conditioning, but none is needed, either. One thing I did miss was useable, functioning internet. There's free Wifi, but the internet is so slow it was unusable for anything other than checking e-mail. Other than that, I'd recommend the St. Elmo to anyone who likes Victorian-style lodging in Ouray.

This is a B & B and it is very quaint. Staff was excellent. The breakfast was a continental breakfast. We never found out why we didn’t get the made to order breakfast. That was a disappointment

We were excited to stay at this historic hotel in early August. Unfortunately, the historical aspect of the hotel also includes a lack of air conditioning. We were provided with a box fan, but it was little help when the windows had no screens and therefore couldn't be opened overnight to cool the room down. The bathroom in the standard room was so small that we banged our elbows on the walls when we tried to move around. The bed was very creeky and old, with no sheet on the boxspring. We had high hopes for this hotel, but unfortunately, we will not be returning in the future.

Hotel is restored to the time period and is charming, however a few modern conveniences would be appreciated. If you are staying here remember to bring your own hair dryer. They don't also seem to staff the reservation desk often, we had to get someone from the restaurant to find someone. Breakfast had several nice bread options but not protein, providently there was a shortage of yogurt.
