During the winter months, the Outer Banks area is quieter and very often restaurants and businesses have limited hours of operation. We apologize if you did not know in advance about the renovations we currently have underway. We are doing our best to minimize impact on our customers and hope to have the upgrades complete by early April. Hopefully during your visit you were still able to enjoy our wonderful ocean views either from Kitty Hawk Pier or our observation deck overlooking the shoreline. Our indoor pool and hot tub are also appealing to guests this time of year when the weather is cooler, and we hope you had a chance to enjoy it as well. Please accept our sincere apology for any inconvenience and frustration you experienced while staying with us recently. While we are doing our best to alert guests prior to arrival about our hotel renovations underway, it sometimes can be overlooked in the booking process. The winter timeframe is the best opportunity to make the major upgrades needed as our occupancy is lower, but we do our best to not have it interfere with our customers’ beach experience. We are very sorry that you were unaware in advance of the work being done and that it wasn’t the oceanfront stay you expected.

While we are making upgrades to our hotel, we are certainly trying to minimize the impact of the work on our guests experiences. There is never a good time to make the needed improvements, however the winter months are best, due to lower occupancy. We hope that despite some setbacks, you were still able to enjoy a dip in our indoor heated pool or hot tub and take walks along the beach directly out our back doors. We are sorry that you didn’t have a better experience.
