Great location on the beach with excellent view

Cons: New mattress/comfortable bedding Better attention to detail by cleaning staff Perhaps in near future, chair height toilet, for aging knees
Location: Convenient to shops, restaurants, Wright Brothers Memorial Park and Jockey Ridge in Kitty Hawk and Nags Head. Very long drive to Hatteras areas
Hotel location is oceanfront, next to pier with excellent views. We watched the dolphins swim by every morning from the balcony. The breakfast buffet is fabulous! You can order made to order eggs, omelettes, pancakes, etc in addition to the buffet! The housecleaning was disappointing in that the wastebaskets in our room were emptied, but no bag liners were replaced. We used all the washcloths, but none were replaced. We had to use a hand towel in the shower 2 days. The beds were pretty worn and sagging even when not being used. I was able to sleep OK, but my husband did not sleep well at all, tossed and turned all night trying to get comfortable. Most concerning was the wobbly railing on the balcony, and the door sweep that broke off preventing the hallway door from opening on the morning of our departure. The maintenance man responded immediately to look at the door and he also reported the wobbly railing to someone on the phone. Very responsive.

Great views

We had a corner room with windows & balcony. GREAT VIEW 👍 We had good service. We went early in early spring & the pool bar was not opened yet. Nice outdoor pool very clean. Indoor pool & jacuzzi had way too much chlorine. But overall my stay was very enjoyable. Thank you

disappointed with the room

Pros: staff courtesy at least on face if not truly care, as i don't believe it was the only room avaialble to assign us.
Cons: room needs big time rennovation
Location: it was accessible to attractions, but not as beautiful beach front location as we thought.
Room 221 on second floor is a side ocean view room. Room was very old with broken bathroom floors but clean, with beaten up sofa that looks like picked up from curb side. Room was smelling damp and stale, the patio has somewhat of a ocean view with chairs to sit down, but it was impossible to sit down and feel the breeze as there is a super size vent fan noise constantly running right below the room and really didn't like that we were placed right in front of the elevator. We wanted to experience the luxury of hilton but this was highly disappointing. Staff knows what they have to sell, so offered free complimentary breakfast which was consoling. Hilton made the exterior amenities attractive and the room we stayed was no close to 1 star. I hate to say this, but it is true that out of all 17 years of business and psnl travel I have done, I never felt this uncomfortable in a hotel room. It was weird that the A/C unit was controlled by the hotel and night got uncomfortably warm to sleep (even though there is temp. control it did not do anything. Usually, on a trip such as this, I am super tired and fall asleep irrespective of the std of beds but I was unable to even sleep thru the night.

Great, outstanding property

Pros: Everything. Great room overlooking the ocean.
Location: Drive to see lighthouses.
Everything from entering to exit was wonderful. Dinner at "Steamers" next door was equally enjoyable .

Oceanfront Joy

Pros: It was clean , quiet, and our oceanfront room and balcony made our stay memorable.
Cons: Nothing!
Location: Tons of wonderful restaurants and the beach is right there!
We stayed at this hotel to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The room was clean, comfortable, and overlooked the surf---we hope to make this little vacation an anniversary tradition and plan to request that same room! Highly recommend!

More than we expected!

We checked in for a quick overnight visit prior to our beach house being ready. Let me tell you, I wish we could have stayed here for the week! We were vey pleasently surprised at the comfort and amenities offered. After staying at several hotels on the Outer Banks, the Hilton Garden Inn wins many times over!

The hotel was undergoing some maintenance so we didn't see it at it's best, but it was still a nice facility.

Poor professional 5-star hotel

You will hear lots of noise from drunk people at the open space on the first floor at night for hours and hours. Congestion of room and old carpet, too narrow balcony (I don't say it is even a balcony).
