An OK-2 Star HotelPosted Oct 26, 2015
Pros: The location. The people are nice.
This hotel works because of its great location near St. Olaf and Carleton. But it's not great. The doors, finishing and furniture is mostly a little lacking. Our bed was too soft. The orange I ate was overripe or bruised. The breakfast is very basic. For the adventuresome, move a couple of blocks to the Archer House. It's much nicer.

Lack of Hotels in NorthfieldPosted Oct 5, 2015
Very disappointing that there are not better hotel options in Northfield. With two colleges in Northfield, it's surprising that the hotels in town don't up their game. Country Inn common areas are run down and not the cleanest. The rooms were cleaner, but very standard. There was a leak in the downstairs hallway when we were there. The walls are paper thin, we were kept up for several hours by loud conversation from the room next door. Every word was audible--not just muffled sounds. The only thing it has going for it was the bed was comfortable and it was close to Carleton and Caribou coffee. $xxx per night on Friday and Saturday was a rip off--more than a room at Marriott Courtyard on the weekend. And believe me the breakfast doesn't make up for the high price! Wish someone would build a better hotel in Northfield before my child graduates!

Nice hotel in college town.Posted Sep 28, 2015
Pros: comfortable beds and nice breakfast.
Cons: Well, you can't change location, but train whistles during the night were annoying.
Location: close to downtown and driving distance to everything in Northfield. Taco bell, Subway and Caribou coffee are all on the same little block.
We stayed at this hotel while visiting our son at St Olaf. It is a great location for going downtown, or going to campus. Negative would be that it is located right next to railroad tracks. The train did wake us several times each night. However, the beds were very comfortable and had no problem falling back to sleep. Continental breakfast was better than most. Overall I would say that for the price, this hotel was a great value! We will stay here again.

The hotel room had old decor. The mirrors weren't very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Not sure if I will stay there again.

Wonderful stayPosted Jul 3, 2015 on Hotels
well, my first room was kind of noisy, so they changed my room with no problem, then it was great. Very convience location, next to taco bell, subway, coffee shop . walgreens and more. All within walking distance. The staff was wonderful and helpful to say the least! And on top of all that you get a regular breakfast included in the price of your room. A great plus! I will be going back there on my next trip and many after that. Plus you get the daily paper everyday!!A must stay!!!

It was close to where we needed to be - but it could use an upgrade.
