location was great, close to transportation. you

Pros: The location to all of the sights.
Cons: The air conditioning units and the water pressure. With every use of the water, the pressure decreases noticable.
Location: Every museum was in walking distance, all of the Smithsonian's and the Capitol.
We stayed at the Holiday Inn/Capital for its location to the sights. We did not expect to have a room almost on the Metro tracks! When the metro was not running the a/c was. It sounded like a jet plane in the room every time it turned on and ran. The staff at the front desk was condescending when we asked for a quieter room without the Metro. Like they were surprised we weren't excited to watch the trains all night. The bellman and cleaning ladies were very helpful and kind. I wanted to mention that because one bad apple should not ruin it for all staff. With the pricing you would expect to get something with the room but there is nothing. No breakfast like some of the Holiday Inns. There is a McD less than a block away for an affordable breakfast with two kids. Not a repeat hotel for sure.

Nice hotel

Stayed there three nights. Comfortable beds, each with four pillows. Nice, fluffy comforters. Had a refrigerator and microwave in the room. Fitness center and pool, what more could we ask for? Front desk and Pam (breakfast chef) very attentive to our needs.

Nice rooms but barefoot strangers

The rooms fit the reliable Hampton Inn mold but we didn't exactly love having breakfast with strangers in their PJs. One woman was in a short nightie and barefoot. Seriously?? We've enjoyed Hampton Inns for years, but this stay will probably make us upgrade to Hiltons.
