Great hotel close to Hyde Park and tube station

Posted Oct 22, 2017
Our stay at the hotel was very nice. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel room was clean and Nicely setup. Was very nice to also have a full service restaurant and bar in the property. Very accessable to close Lancaster gate tube station. Cabs can also be found waiting outside often. The concierge was excellent in helping with arranging transportation. The hotel was very accessable for handicap walker as well.

Excellent location. Great place to stay

Posted Oct 22, 2017
We were going to a event in SSEWembly arena and decided that was only 1 evening of our 3 day stay, so we would stay more local to the centre attractions. This is a excellent hotel nothing is ever to much trouble for the staff and all are very friendly. The hotel is very clean and the food was outstanding one of the best breakfasts we have had in London and would definately recommend this hotel.

Very disappointed!

Posted Oct 19, 2017
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Customer service.
After I arrived at the hotel I spoke to my wife in California and learned that wildfires were threatening our city and our house was in danger of burning down. I had planned on spending three nights in London, but given this information, I decided that I needed to return home the next day. I spoke to someone at the front desk and told him that although I booked the room for three nights I would only need it for one night. He informed me that because I made the reservation through Expedia there was nothing he could do about it. I called Expedia and spoke to a customer service representative about my situation. After calling the hotel she informed me that my reservation was non-refundable. Several days after I returned home I wrote to the reservations manager at the hotel and asked for a refund for the two nights I didn’t use the room. She replied as follows: “As the reservation has been created via third party agent and not directly with the hotel it is always more complicated to do any amendments. Moving forward we will be pleased to offer two complimentary nights in Corus Hotel Hyde Park within next 6 months, inclusive of breakfast.” So, the bottom line is that the management of this hotel is not willing to refund the amount I paid for two nights lodging, regardless of the fact that I needed to return home two days early because my house was in danger of burning down. Had I known how insensitively I would have been treated I would have never reserved a room there

Great location but expect anything amazing

Posted Oct 17, 2017
Start with the good, end with the bad. Wifi was amazing, location was awesome, the hotel was extremely quiet however this could be due tot the fact that we were on the top floor and extremely close to Lancaster Gate Station. Now with the bad. The room was miniature, the carpets and walls were dirty with wallpaper peeling, the shower pressure was nonexistent and you couldn’t shower without getting the toilet wet as that’s how small everything was. Bed and pillows were also comfortable.

Good central location

Posted Oct 11, 2017
Pros: Location, good Wifi, and breakfasts.
Cons: getting the bed size and layout worked out better.
Location: The hotel well situated with bus and underground services within easy walking. There are a number of locate pubs that service a good variety of meals
Overall our stay was good - however the biggest disappointment was the room size that had the double bed against one wall that made getting in and out very difficult for a person with an injured hip. The suitcase storage under the bed made is difficult to get items out easily. The rooms were modern with a small bathroom that was well laid out. Staff were friendly and attentive. The Wifi service was very good and there were USB battery charging outlets on a number of power points in the room. The breakfast and service was excellent.

Cancer diagnosis - hotel refused to change dates

Posted Oct 10, 2017
We had to cancel our week long stay because my partner's mother was disgnosed with cancer. We explained this to Expedia who were very helpful and contacted the hotel for us. The hotel refused to refund us or offer new dates despite us offering to obtain a medical certificate to prove the diagnosis, stating that the booking was non-refundable and that was that. My partner's mother then died during the time we were supposed to be staying at the hotel-only weeks after the diagnosis. I believe if the hotel had offered us new dates or a refund it would have been the right thing to do, in fact we would have ensured we returned multiple times in the future.
