overbooked and moved

We booked and prepaid to stay at the Mercure. After a long journey and arriving at the hotel at 6pm, we were told that the hotel had overbooked and sold our room, so we were moved to another hotel down the road. The new hotel was ok - quite small and very noisy - but the principle is that if you’ve prepaid for something you expect to get it. If I prepaid for a new iPhone and Apple turned around and said you can’t have it, but here’s a Samsung instead, you’d be furious. I don’t understand how Mercure thinks this is ok. I’d deliberately not booked the hotel we were moved to as wanted to stay at the Mercure. Disappointing.

Amazing location to stay before a heathrow express

Great place to stay rather than Hearhrow if you are traveling. Great night life and restaurants too. I was not very mobile due to a knee injury and this hotel fit the bill perfectly.

Convenient location to Paddington Station

Pros: Clean and efficient layout even though small
Location: Adjacent to Paddington station and Underground so easy to get to museums and tourist sites
Clean, comfortable, but small room. Staff helpful. Nearby Greek restaurant "It's all Greek to me" offered reasonably priced and tasty meals

Convenient and close to the parddington metro rail

Pros: The closeness to the metro station
Cons: The need to provide some trolleys for guests to easily move their luggage
Location: Very close to a variety of very nice eating and shopping centers
Very comfortable and enjoyable it is strategically located between Paddington Station and Edgware road and with easy access to Marks and Spencer shopping area

Nice stay at the Mercure Paddington

The bath tub was against an outside wall with a window, so it had a shower curtain covering it. There was also a shower curtain on the opposite side of the wall. this made it hard to turn around without getting one or both shower curtains stuck to me. But this was my "biggest" problem. Both the bathroom and the bedroom were huge for England clean and very comfortable.

Great location

Cons: Hire better cleaners? One was simply spraying liquid into air then walk off when I assume she was meant to be cleaning the stairwell.
Always like to stay here when travelling abroad as it's so easy to get to Heathrow from Paddington. The manager was very helpful in dealing with a booking / payment enquiry.
