Off the main road hotel

Posted Oct 18, 2017
Pros: clean
Cons: carpet needs replacing
Location: off the main road
We arrived late in the evening and our first impression was "Oh No." However, while the hotel is dated and a bit old, the owners have attempted to bring it into the 21st century. The room was very clean, especially the bathroom. The owners reflect a "mom and Pop" hotel but were very nice and welcomed us warmly.

Feels more like a B & B.

Real dishes for breakfast give a nice homey touch as do all their decorations. Great advice on where go for dinner. We also appreciated the heads up on how to navigate the detour of the bridge to the hot springs. The rooms were small but nice. The bathroom could be described as cozy but there is not much they could do about that.

Pros: The owners
Cons: Needs updating
Hotel owners very nice. Breakfast area updated and attractive. Rooms need updating. We had peeling paint and the carpeting didn't seem to be very clean.

Convenient location

Posted Sep 1, 2017
Second time staying at the Alpine Inn. The hotel itself is older and there aren't really any upgrades. The a/c units thermostat in our room was definitely broke. We had it down to 65 and the room never got below room temp. When it did kick on it was SO LOUD, no way anyone could sleep with that noise. The gentleman at front desk said a/c unit was only a year old. Aside from that, and the lady at front desk assiging our room to another couple and them walking in on us while relaxing in bed, our two days there were OK. We would probably book there again on our next visit to Pagosa, but im bringing a travelers door lock from now on!
