Good location but could use some updating

The most important concern a safety issue regarding the action of one staff member serving in the lounge. The service and food were quite good. However it was disturbing to observe a glass being used to scoop ice from a bucket. This is a very dangerous practice. Imagine swallowing a chip of glass that no one noticed. Major damage could result. We ate several other meals at Quail Hollw. The sterno was out on the egg dish on the breakfast buffet. At another meal served buffet style for a private gathering several of the dishes were not nearly warm enough for safe consumption. About the room. Very nice and comfortable and well equipped even w/ a refrigerator. It would have been nice if it worked. Perhaps it was turned down but there was no access to a control. We had 2- rooms and in one the fridge worked fine. The television was a very nice size. But the speakers are on the rear of the set facing into the cabinet. This greaty reduces the high frequencies as well as overall sound level. A very large percentage of people over 40 have hearing loss in these frequencies. This is the frequency range that is so crucial to hearing and comprehending dialoge. It is necessary to turn the volume up to a point that it is too loud. At checkout I very gently mentioned to the attendant there was an issue w/ the TV. She asked if I would like to be contacted by management. I provided my email address but never head back. I would have much preferred to discuss this w/ them directlly.

This used to be a nice place

Very disappointed. This place obviously used to be nice. The lobby was impressive. We were put in rooms way out back, in a building that had seen better days. Shabby, dank lower floor that was half underground - it felt like an institution. Y'all need to remodel before we come back.

Pros: I think the staff was superb all around.
Stayed here for my cousin's wedding and everything was perfect. Great staff, great location (except for construction nearby), great food.

close to nothing

Location: nothing, in the real outskirts of a small town.
ok, well suited for some . nice ambiance. would stay again when in the area.

Excellent stay. Beautiful, older hotel, but nicely kept. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again! It's already on our radar for our next trip through!

Nice hotel close to parks

It was a great stay, no issues. I preferred to go to a local cafe for a well rounded breakfast. Hotel and parks are beautiful.

Comfortable Room in a Beautiful Setting

Cons: Breakfast is pricey.
Friendly staff, comfortable rooms with loads of pillows firm and soft, easy wifi, very clean and spacious.

the carpet was outdated the prices at the restaurant or crazy too high we had two different rooms because someone went into our room and open the windows after we were staying there the second room smelled like mold other than that was a nice outdated place that we paid too much for
