needs a few small changes

Posted Nov 28, 2017
Location: Great stop if you are going from Canada or Buffalo down the Southern Tier Highway or across New York State. Five minutes from The Corning Glass Museum
I have stayed in this motel several times over the years, but this was my first time since it has been an America's Best Value Inn.The motel is old which means that the rooms are lovely and spacious. They have been niced renovated. However a few small things have been neglected which make a huge difference to clients. The locks don't work, In a one night's stay, staff had to come and use a master to unlock the door to our room four times! Apparently this happens often. That was a lot of inconvenience for us and them. It was a cold day when we arrived. The first room we were given did not have the heat on when we arrived. After half an hour,we still had our coats on and the maintenance woman moved us to another room. She was wonderful. I wish I had her name, but she certainly understood customer service and should be valued and rewarded by the owners. Breakfast was great. All in all, they do a lot of things right, but have neglected a few small details which make a huge difference.

nice hotel, very good access to area.

Posted Nov 5, 2017
Pros: access to highways
Cons: the breakfast bar could use a lot of improvement
Location: access to downtown is great. Very easy to find Glass Center and Rockwell Museum
Room was very comfortable. Access to area good. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast left a lot to be desired.

Location: finger lakes, parks
Just passing through after going to a family wedding.

Close to Corning Museum of Glass

Posted Oct 7, 2017
The staff are nice, the room was good enough for two nights, but the location was wondeful. It was also very quite despite a number of people around. I was right next to the ice machine, but never once heard it. Good spot for a quick stay.

Very basic room at a basic price

Posted Oct 2, 2017
Wonderful staff. The hotel reflects the low price. Our room was very basic and a little dated. However, it was quite spacious and had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable.

Beware of bed bugs!

Posted Sep 25, 2017
I don't usually post reviews but my experience here was just terrible. From the moment we arrived we had an uneasy feeling about the place. The light above the doorway had a lot of bugs hanging and flying around it. We had trouble opening the door and had to try our key cards multiple times for it to open. Once we got in, the room felt very humid and had a musty odor. We figured it's just one night and all we need is a bed to sleep on so we decided to blast the AC, turn on the bathroom vent and hoped it would make a difference while we went out to eat dinner. When we got back about an hour and a half later the musky smell was still there but was a little more tolerable. We sat on the bed to watch tv and after about 30 minutes I started to notice springtails hopping around but since they don't bite I let it slide. Then I saw a small brown bug on the pillow next to me and had my bf kill it. We had no idea what it was at the time so we continued to watch tv. Then when we found 2 more crawling on the bed covers we got more concerned. We took a picture to check on google what it was and sure enough they're BED BUGS!!! We put them in a cup and brought them to show the front desk. She didn't seem surprised eventhough she says they've never had problems with them before. She proceeded to offer a room just a few doors down but no thank you! We hightailed it out of there to another hotel. Wish we knew sooner because now I'm suffering from multiple bed bug bites all over my arms and leg

Please let me apologize for your most unpleasant stay. We are usually very diligent and my staff ihas been trained in the areas of these bugs. Obviously we missed the mark on this and are quite embarrassed and disturbed with what you found. Once again, please except my sincere apologies.

The reviews don't do your hotel justice.

Posted Sep 12, 2017
Pros: Spacious, quiet, clean room!
Cons: Your continental breakfast needs more hot foods and updated t.v.
Location: Easy access to downtown and Pierre Restaurant was great.. also the Corning museum is nearby.
Our stay with you exceeded our expectations - very large room, quiet and clean. Thank you so much!

Spiders galore.

Posted Sep 11, 2017
Pros: It had rooms available during a busy weekend when others were full.
Cons: Management need to start a regular insect control routine with a pest control company. Staff need to remove webs and dead insects regularly.
Location: Location is close to highways and main streets. Only things to do nearby are 2 restaurants, Walmart and Home Depot.
The property is old and poorly maintained. Staff do not make any effort to to control insects. There were spider webs at the top and bottom of the walls as well as over the windows (behind the curtains). As well as the spiders, the dead carcasses of their prey were littered on the window sills. We rejected the first 3 rooms that we were offered. The 4th room had only a few small spiders, so we cleaned them up and accepted that room. The continental breakfast is a bit sparse. It is a pet friendly motel. Staff do not remove pet hair from the upholstered chairs. Unbelievable.

I have read your comments regarding your recent stay. I apologize for any inconvenience we have caused you. Yes, spiders can be a problem due to the fact we are still very rural, on 5 acres of property and have an abundance of mature trees. Once again, we are sorry for any inconvenience you experienced.

Good, clean and safe for a place to sleep.

Posted Sep 11, 2017 on Hotels
Good place to lay your head for a night or two at a reasonable price. older property but the room was clean and the beds comfortable. Plenty of restaurants nearby and continental breakfast was fine. Only complaint is the room still had an old tube TV. There's really no reason not to have flat screen TVs at any hotel any more.

Thank you for your comments with Expedia. We hopefully will be changing our old tube tvs to flat screens in the near future.
