Since there is no air-conditioning, the rooms have no windows, just nets instead of windows. If you are a light sleeper this could be an issue, basically it feels as you are sleeping outside in open air, you can hear every single thing that moves around. The bathroom is extremely basic, you can hardly find a place to put the towels. The exchange rate they use is not the best, so better to bring some native currency with you. Otherwise the staff is great and very helpful and the property is very well situated, just few steps from the beach.

kite surfers paradise

Posted Aug 18, 2018 on Hotels
The place itself was all ok but the beach is only really for kite surfers. The tide goes out approx 1 km and walking out through the water is good but be warned, you need see shoes on add there are many urchins waiting for you to stand on. Food and drinks ok. Thomas makes a great omelette for breakfast but I think it's time for a new toaster guys!!!

Hi. Thank you for taking the time to give us a feedback. Yes, the tide goes out far. it changes every day by about one hour. so there are always about six hours of deep enough water for swimming. True the kiters love our beach. Its all sandy and no rocks. Well noted the toaster is finished alright. New one is on the way. Kind greetings from our little paradise. Hans

Terrible experience. Stay away.

Posted Aug 18, 2018 on Hotels
We had a terrible experience with the lodge especially given how much we paid for the cost of the hotel. We have traveled across the world including Amazon jungle in Peru and Serengeti in Tanzania, but I have never seen a place where hotel management has such an attitude of indifference towards maintaining the hotel. I wish there was a way to get refund. 1. Bathrooms were dirty with broken shower and there was an old paint bucket kept as a substitute for a real bucket (Really?) 2. The housekeeping staff seems to be totally clueless and would not replace soaps or other supplies. We had to ask twice for clean towels. They don't provide any shower supplies and had to pay premium to purchase from the onsite store. 3. One night there were too many bugs and mosquitoes in the room. There is no hotel staff in the evening and only some Masai folks are sitting outside the office. They actually made fun of us when we told them about bugs and mosquitoes. 4. Most tourist are Germans and they smoke everywhere. It was even very hard to sit anywhere for lunch/dinner.

Hi Lady's. Thank you for your email. Well sorry you sound so frustrated. Unfortunately you never came and spoke to the management about the issues you raised. We where told by restaurant staff that other guests complained about your rude attitude towards your fellow guests. We host about 30 different nationalities through the year. The housekeeping staff are here for years and if asked the respond to the job. We are a one star place and there is no staff in the office or reception after 7. but its written. The Maasai are only there for security and nothing else. Anyway to compare the Amazon jungle or the Serengeti with this amazing Beach location is at best naive. I really cant understand the frustration about everything. Really sorry for your not so nice stay. Through communicating to the management some issues could have been solved. I will take this to communicate better to other clients to find out if there are grievances of any sort. Kind greetings from our little paradise.

A great way to start the new year

Posted Jan 15, 2018 on Hotels
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Ndame. The accommodation was very basic and outdated and the rooms hot but the location and restaurant right on the beach made up for that as well as the friendly staff. The food at the restuarant was also excellent. It was an exceptionally busy time of year and we did feel sorry for the staff as there were not enough of them and they were run off their feet but despite this they were always very friendly and very helpful. Thank you to the staff at Ndame for showing us such a great time and for the warm hospitality. We also thought that it was really fantastic that on Nee Years eve they organized live music and a seafood buffet. This was a real privilege to experience. We will definitely be back!

If you wanna get away...then this is it.

All comments are with understanding that I liked the place. However, some people might not like the rustic nature of the place and should know before hand. If you want peace, quiet and isolation, and to just do nothing... this is the place. 1. wifi unstable with access only at restaurant. Walk away a few feet, and nothing 2. No alr condition or no phone in room. 3. Some rooms have a sand walk way to your door..others have pavement 4. You may get help with your luggage in but you are on your own taking it out 5. As the massage person day 1 then not again. 6. Construction going on, but will not bother you

Paradise!

Posted Aug 29, 2017
Lovely hotel nestled in well-cared for tropical gardens only steps from the beach. Rooms are spacious and airy, beds super-comfortable with extensive mosquito nets, and bathrooms have plenty of room for your spongebag. The beach is kept clean and has plenty of sunbeds, and the restaurant and bar are very reasonably priced. Service is swift (even more noteable as this is far from the norm in Tanzania) and there's a wide variety of options on offer in both. The public areas are kept spotless (as is the public toilets) and rooms are cleaned daily, and beautifully. Of especial note is Khadija, the beauty therapist, whose messages are very reasonably priced yet utterly transformative. I could happily have stayed here at least another week - it's just a wonderful hotel, in a beautiful location, that is exceptionally well run.

A good hotel for budget minded travelers.

We loved the beach location of the hotel. The outdoor bar is a perfect place to enjoy the beach while enjoying a tropical drink. The rooms are basic and clean. The hot breakfasts were good.

Very happy with my choice

Rooms are basic and don't have air conditioning and the ceiling fan was ineffectual. Food, staff and laundry were good. View was jaw dropping. Very poor exchange rate at check out
