Hotel description is exactly how it is when you get there. The location is really convenient for restaurants, cable car takes you across the river which is fun. The beach is straight across the road there is a car park but its not huge or disturbing. The staff are friendly and helpful. The only let down is the breakfast would be nice to have a proper lazy breakfast but what is on offer is not good value.

Overall this was a great hotel and I would stay here again! The hotel was kept clean and has been updated. The only issue we had was that there was a weird smell in the lobby, a different weird smell in the hallway and a third weird smell in our room. The smells were not repulsive or anything extreme, just displeasing. But other than that, nice staff, great proximity to the beach (right across the street) and not even a 10 minute walk to an area of restaurants, vendors and a marina.
When booking we were worried about the location of the hotel, as transportation from the heart of Montpellier to the hotel was confusing. We were able to figure it out luckily but it was not obvious before we arrived. There is a tram that runs through the city to Palavas-les-flots, and then from there you wait for a bus that will stop close to the hotel. So in conclusion it is pretty easy to get to and from Montpellier if you feel inclined to do so!!
The campsite behind us (which we were told may be an issue by reviews) was actually not too bad. It was lively and you could hear them, but it wasn't obnoxious and the background noise made the area feel more lively which was actually nice.

The beach view was great in the afternoon and evening. In the morning the sun was insanely bright -- we were very grateful for the powered shutter. Comfortable bed (two twins pushed together to make a king), good bathroom. Not a large room, but it was a comfortable base of operations.
The staff had more English than we have French which isn't saying all that much, but we communicated just fine. And they were very good humored about our wrecking their language on a regular basis.
We were there only two nights, but it was the right choice for the end of a two-week stay in the Herault. I joked that Palavas-les-Flots was Languedoc's answer to Gatlinburgh, TN, but all in all, I'd stay there again.
