The service was phenomenal, the food was first rate, the room was incredibly clean. My wife got ill and they immediately contacted a physician at our request who arrived shortly to attend to her. I would stay there over and over again and refer to my friends.

Stay for the Mayan ambiance and welcome.
Since you arrive, everyone makes you feel very welcome. All of the hotel is Mayan inspired. The pool is beautifull in its jungle surroundings. And the attention from everyone that works here is the best

We chose this hotel because of all the good reviews. We were not disappointed. The hotel is small so it is not crowded. The grounds are peaceful and quiet and the staff is really attentive. The food in the restaurant is excellent. We absolutely loved everything about our stay here.

The most amazing place to stay near Palenque
This was a magical place like no other. Beautiful, peaceful, in the nature, with the most magnificent pool. The staff went out and beyond to make sure our stay will be unforgettable and the chef prepared us 3 meals a day as it was so good we did not want to eat anywhere else. The room is meticulously cleaned! I highly recommend it and it is located it a perfect distance to see some amazing waterfalls and ruins.

The rooms and property are beautiful. Staff is friendly and helpful. Food in the restaurant was delicious. Howler monkeys on the property were an unexpected treat.

The highlight of a tour of Mexico, largely due to the wonderful Hotel Quinta Chanabnal. It is difficult to do justice to it in words, but I thoroughly recommend it. A lovely tranquil setting, characterful rooms, public area and pool, excellent food, a gracious and interesting hands-on host and all at remarkably modest cost. Palenque ruins are fabulous, as much for their tranquillity as their majesty - a world apart from the soulless, queue-bound, tripper-infested experience at Chichen-Itza.

Beautiful hotel, great location and super helpful staff.The food is not particularly authentic, and the menu is quite limited but we loved our stay here. The location is incredibly peaceful, the pool area is fantastic and the rooms are large and very well presented!

Wonderful! I enjoyed here a lot for everything such as foods, service and all facilities are beautiful. The hotel mans are great and helpful. This hotel owner is an archaeologist. So if you are really interested in ruins especially Palenque ruin here is a perfect place to stay!

Staying here was a totally magical experience. The property is gorgeous. In the jungle with pools and a lake. Every details is beautifully executed. The rooms are gorgeous. The dining area is spectacular. The people who work there from Raphael the owner to the security detail are wonderful, interesting, helpful, kind and charming. This is the best place ever.

Amazing experience
On arrival we were welcomed by staff and our luggage was taken to our room. We had an upgrade to Queens Suite. The furniture and décor was unique. For our dinner, we were received by Mr Raphael Junesi Koppold, the Owner and GM which was really a great feeling. We had only two nights stay. The next day was a long day to visit Bonampak and Yaxchilan. Mr Koppold arranged a guide at our request and gave practical advice. On the second night we arrived late. Still, Mr Koppold managed to meet us on our arrival and also cooked lamb as per our prior request. We are from UK and was driving which was rather crazy with no wifi or navigation in place as there were no signals despite hiring the equipment and car from Tuxtla airport. We had a great time in the resort and everything was very personal. We had an amazing time. Hope, we had some more time to enjoy the Spa but the next day we had to leave Palenque. The Staff were very good and the services impressive.

Excellent resort style hotel close to the ruins
Very pleasant experience. I got a tour of the hotel amenities right during check in along with a glass of white wine. My room was the junior suite. All the amenities were modern but with a neo-Mayan twist as the owner describes it. If you want to immerse in Mayan culture, the hotel is a good starting point. The owner met with me multiple times and really makes sure that guests have a comfortable and memorable stay. There were a couple of minor issues with the safety box and bathroom window netting but the owner got them fixed right away and even offered to upgrade my room to Presidential suite free of charge. There is a howler monkey family in the premises and if you're lucky, you will be able to get a close up view. The hotel arranged for an English guide (me only) and so I did not have to go through the hassle of arranging group tours online prior to my stay. And yes, the food was awesome. I ordered room service and choose the traditional Mayan dishes on offer - they were all sumptuous.

Far exceed our expectations!
Having never been to Palenque we didn't know what to expect when we landed. However, when we arrived to Quinta Chanabnal we were blown away by its setting, our welcome, and the friendly staff. We were in the Presidential Suite and it certainly fit its class. The room was spacious with ample seating, closets, and seating. Top notch. We loved the seating area just outside our room door with views of the surrounding area, privacy, and also our own private dipping pool complete with a waterfall feature. The restaurant was more than we expected, featuring a continental menu with local dishes as well as Italian, Asian and Mexican. I highly recommend the gnocchi with gorgonzola. We ate their for all our meals as we didn't find it necessary to go anywhere else. The tropical surroundings were beyond belief. A howler monkey family greeted us every morning outside in the trees. They were open to being fed bananas!! I treated myself to a body wrap (oats and honey), a face wrap (chocolate) and a luxurious relaxing massage right in my room! Our daily taxis and guides were arranged by hotel staff as well as our transportation to Villahermosa 2 hours away on our departure. Five star rating by us!!

Maya Magic
A lovely home that accommodates a few lucky guests that want to visit Palenque. The grounds and surroudings may entice you to just lay by the natural pool and watch monkeys and macaws. The owner is knowledgeable about the Maya ruins and has incorporated that design into his own home that you get to share. The staff is wonderful and help you with anything you need. Don't miss this!.

If you are planning a trip to visit sites in and around Palenque, this hotel will be the oasis of your dreams. After long days of visiting Maya archaeological sites in Chiapas, we were so glad to return to this gem of a hotel nestled among beautiful gardens and inviting pools. We wanted for nothing here. The food, the staff, the rooms and all the amenities were simply wonderful. We love every minute of our stay here.

Lovely small hotel
Everything about this lovely hotel has been well designed and planned. The restaurant and lobby are lovely with soaring thatched roofs allowing gentle breezes. Menu is wide-ranging and delicious with a chef's professional touch. Staff is ultra attentive though not hovering. Lucia and Will are extremely knowledgeable and arranged tours, guides and transport that were flawless. And the best is owner Rafael who is indeed a Mayan scholar and happy to engage in discussions of all things Mayan. Stay here. It's a wonderful respite after a day in the jungle At Palenque.

Exceptional Experience, Stunning Location!
This hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. We were greeted by the proprietor and his concierge (by name) when we arrived late after a long drive from Campeche. There was no paperwork hassle, and staff parked our car for us. Unlike other hotels, the Concierge, Gustavo, was amazing. He offered us a complimentary drink, walked us through the property, and as we walked to our room gave us all of the information necessary leaving us to relax with every question answered. It felt like a true welcome rather than a check-in at a front lobby desk. What stands out about this hotel is not only that it is an Oasis in the jungle setting, but the high quality in service, food, drinks, and the personal involvement of the proprietor. The room was heaven; absolutely beautiful, pristine, and comfortable. My husband and I wanted a romantic getaway as we always do family holidays with our children, and we could not have picked a better place. We were able to receive room service for drinks and meals, sleep better than ever, and enjoy our room in the solidarity of nature in this Oasis. When we needed anything, all we had to do was call reception. We were impressed by the menu. The food was very gourmet, making it possible for us to not have to leave and find restaurants. Another plus, was that it is an eco-friendly hotel. Thank you so much to the Proprietor, Raphael, and his staff for this lovely experience; It was everything were hoping for and more. We can't wait to return!

Two nights here for an early start at the WHS. When booking, the only suite left was the Suite 5 (Presidential); oh dear! Huge room with big sitting area, comfy bed, great bathroom, nice outside sitting room, terrace and plunge pool. Lovely. Up before dawn, mist over the lake; birds and howler monkeys firing up for their morning chorus. A swim in the crystal clear pool as the mist was burnt away to reveal pink clouds in the pale blue sky. What a great way to start a day. Staff and owner were charming. Plan to go back for a longer stay.

A gem in the Palenque area
We stayed only two nights, but in that time we came to appreciate the attentiveness to detail that makes this hotel a gem. Our room was luxuious, large, and comfortable. The personal service was outstanding. We were able to change money, have our laundry done, and enjoy drinks and snacks any time. The food was very good. The owner, who seemed to always be on site, made a point to connect with us and anticipate our needs.

Amazing hotel in amazing Palenque
It was a pleasure to arrive at this hotel after a arduous day travelling. From the moment we arrived to when we left the owner Rafael made us very welcome and provided us with very interesting and stimulating discussions about the Mayan culture. He personally took the time to speak to all his guests each night at dinner and made everybody feel very special. The hotel itself is amazing, we have travelled to many places around the world and this has to be one of my favourite for its uniqueness, tranquility, comfort and its location so close to the ancient ruins at Palenque. We stayed 3 nights and we're glad we had done so. We would highly recommend this hotel to anybody wishing to visit Palenque.

Best hotel and staff in Palenque!
Raphael Tunesi the owner is an expert, published Maya scholar who takes hospitality seriously. Our long post dinnet conversations with him added so much to our Palenque experience. The rooms are spectacular and comfortable with good beds and great, big bathrooms. The food was very good. We ate all meals there for two days. By far this is the best place to stay in the area and it is not expensive by American and European standards.

Owner Raphael is a Maya expert and delightful to spend time with. Rooms are very comfortable and nicely appointed, staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful, food was fantastic. We enjoyed having a patio with jungle surroundings for late afternoon happy hour!

What more can I say than this is a secluded paradise. Exceptional personal service from beginning to end. We were treated like royalty. They did everything to make our stay a special experience. Helped book a last minute tour to Bonampak and Yaxchilan. Upgraded us to a Jr. Suite. You won't go wrong staying here. Stayed two nights. Excellent meals with personalized service. A highlight of our trip to Southern Mexico. We'll be back.

We arrived late in the evening and we have forgotten to request an extra bed, the staff were more than happy to help and to accommodate all of our requests. The hotel is spectacular, the grounds and the rooms are gorgeous! Quite an amazing stay!
