Quick trip through Palermo

Posted Jul 21, 2017
Pros: Location & price point.
Cons: Mattresses, caulking around tubs, toiletries.
Location: Great location - near shopping, hop on / hop off busses, restaurants...all within a short walk.
First off, the location was perfect for our group of 9 (4 hotel rooms). It was very close to the hop on / hop off bus, the Theater, and the main shopping district...all w/in a short walking distance. One thing we weren't fond of was the mattresses - they are VERY hard. (We did notice this in most of the hotels we stayed at in Italy, not sure why they are all so firm?!). The other thing was that there was mold along the shower walls, that should be fixed / addressed. Toiletries leave a bit to be desired, but that's a minor thing. Overall, the location outweighed the minor issues...and the price was right.

Dear Guest, thanks for having chosen to overnight in our hotel in Palermo, We appreciate very much the fact, you decided to express your opinion about his kind of holiday experience. We invite to accept our apologies, for the slight stripe of mold you found along the shower wall. We have immediately checked and the housekeeping has thrown it away. So we want to thank you for your reporting. We are sorry to hear, you did not like the quality of the mattresses we have in the hotel. All things considered, we are glad to understand, you could enjoy a comfortable stay. Thank you so much. Greetings from the staff.

Convenient and high quality hotel

Posted Mar 5, 2017 on Hotels
The hotels was quite lovely, very friendly and relatively quiet for a central city...on the second night there was a birthday party just under my hotel window in the entertainment area of the hotel so it was a bit noisy until midnight...but other wise fine....it has a great bar and the breakfast although not included was very inexpensive and excellent fare...

Great stay at this well-located traditional hotel

Posted Nov 4, 2016
Pros: Pleasant staff, good breakfast in a nice conservatory, big quiet bedroom (308), hotel in excellent condition.
Cons: Very minor gripe - the toiletries aren't up to a 4 star hotel standard
Location: The location is excellent, within 5 minutes walk of the historic one way and 5 minutes to the main shopping area the other way.

Perfect location for sightseeing in Palermo

Posted Nov 3, 2016
Hotel chosen for its location as it was easy to walk to iconic places like the opera house & royal palace as well as stroll through the local markets. You are spoilt for choice as far as good eating places nearby. The bar/cafe a few doors away from the hotel do great salads & snacks and there are restaurants around every corner for less casual dining. Hotel highlights are the staff and morrocan themed seating area. Plenty of choice at the self service breakfast. If giving constructive feedback, the rooms could be lighter and brighter by just changing bed & curtain fabrics. A new coat of paint on the walls would help too. This is just a minor point to suggest improvements. The bed was comfy and room kept clean so if not spending much time in the room you will have a great stay

An ok value, with no other Palermo experience

Posted Nov 2, 2016
Location: don't know if it is just me, but if you went in the wrong direction, the area seemed a bit "sketchy"
Parking - The hotel needs to have its own dedicated parking spots (which would be free for hotel guests), and its own dedicated parking staff. After those spaces were all taken, it needs to have a distinct, clear plan for parking additional cars during the day, and overnight, that is simple for it's guests. Elevator - was out of order the first day I was there. Included breakfast - nice perk, but poorly run and inadequate. First, hotel staff said it was available from 7:00am to 10:00am, but at about 9:00am they start packing up! Makes you feel unwelcome. Staff was inadequate even if the room was 1/2 full. One waiter could be dedicated to just pouring coffee and delivering espressos and cappuccinos. Scrambled eggs were soggy, bacon was swimming in grease. Would be nice to have an omelet bar. Room - only had one outlet available, which was used to power refrigerator. If you wanted to charge your phone or computer, you had to unplug the refrigerator, and plug it back in repeatedly. Noise - From Saturday night until 6:30 am Sunday morning, loud music kept me up. On Sunday night there was a wedding or party with loud music until 11:45pm. TV - Instructions to turn it on were not right, and even the host at the desk could not figure it out. He also could not figure out how to change the language to English.

Excellent service, above abd beyond especially gentleman in breakfast room. Room reasonable. Had a very bad smell until window left opens long time. Shower was in tub up about 2.5 feet so almost impossible to get into.

Nice Hotel, Centrally Located

Posted Apr 26, 2015
Pros: Location; buffet breakfast; room was comfortable.
Cons: Staff willingness to assist (again, just one or two; majority of interactions were wonderful!).
Location: Walkable to all major historical sites, including Teatro Massimo, Pretoria Fountain, Cathedral of Palermo, Norman Castle. Shopping/restaurants close.
I was traveling with a small group to Palermo and found this hotel to be perfect for our needs. The hotel itself is very centrally located, close to some of the historical sites worth visiting, but also shopping, restaurants, and very close to an airport bus drop-off/pick-up. The hotel lobby is very lovely and our rooms were comfortable. The breakfast buffet was also excellent, with quite a lot of selections (we only wished cannolis were available everyday!). The staff were mostly very helpful; a few interactions we had could have gone a little better (not bad or rude, just didn't seem in too much of a rush to help or answer questions). Overall, very nice stay and I would return!
