Friendly hotel offering excellent value for money

Posted Oct 16, 2017
Pros: The staff were fantastic. Completely warm, welcoming and helpful at all times. The front desk staff speak English very well.
Cons: Unless I missed it, an English language news channel on the television would be welcome.
Location: A lot of shops and restaurants surrounding the Duque. Reasonable close to the subway. Felt safe.
Duque is situated in a great location in Palermo. Many eating spots, supermarkets and other shops within the immediate vicinity. Subway a 5 - 10 minute walk away. Seems a safe area. The hotel is in a beautiful old building that has been tastefully modernised. The staff are very friendly and helpful and always greet you with a smile. A lovely breakfast each day to get you going. The room was spacious and spotless with a very comfortable bed.

Great hotel for the money

Posted Jun 28, 2017
Pros: Comfortable bed and reasonably sized room. We measure quality by a sound bed, nice linens and working plumbing. This exceeded on all counts.
Location: It had a neighborhood feel - lots of families. It was safe to walk in with markets and cafes within easy walking. It's on a quiet side street.
We came in early one day, stayed late on the day we left - in both cases, the staff handled our luggage flawlessly. This is a boutique hotel - small but clean and a real bargain. The rate includes breakfast - eggs cooked to order and pastries, as well. Also an expresso machine. Really a little gem! If you are in room 102, be sure and close the outside shutters to make the room dark.

ALL I wanted and more

Posted May 7, 2017
I had always dreamed and romanticized Buenos Aires , and had visioned a certain type of hotel - well , The Duque met & exceeded my expectations. A small quaint , charming hotel, run a bit more like a B&B. My room was cute and cozy , with a window overlooking city scape as well as garden space in back of the hotel. The bed was thoroughly comfortable with nice white linens. The bathroom, bright and airy in nice modern marble .All throughout the hotel there is the perfect blend of old ( classic) meets modern. The staff were no doubt the biggest asset to this property- all spoke perfect English ,and were polite, professional and courteous. Although could have a good laugh with each other and joking with them was just added fun. A perfect blend and a happy end to a fabulous vacation.

High quality small hotel

Posted Apr 3, 2017
Pros: Its atmosphere and its people.
Located in an authentic BA neighbourhood within walking distance of the large parks. and just a few blocks from a subway station. All of the hotel is of high quality, and the staff is unfailingly friendly and most helpful, attending immediately to every need.

Dear guest, I want to thank you for giving us your comments about your stay and especially mentioning those attendants; sometimes, it is a job that is meant not to be seen but requires a little extra to help any guest that needs assistance. They will be so glad to see that guests really appreciate their hard work and I will share this with them immediately as encouragement for a job well done. Thank you. Kind regards.

Excellent Boutique Hotel in Palermo.

Posted Mar 30, 2017 on Wotif
Location: I like the location, a few blocks walk to the subway (metro) station, and a short walk to Plaza Guemes and plenty of local shops.
My son and I stayed in 3 hotels in the Palermo area in March 2017. This was the best. I originally booked 4 nights, but we ended up staying 9 nights, because we found it such a comfortable and relaxed place to stay. The staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean, shower pressure is good and there is a nice lounge area downstairs to relax in. Also, each morning in the downstairs dining area, a wonderful lady ensures you have a great breakfast. Very enjoyable stay.

Great service at the front desk. Only complaint was there 2 roaches 1 night in the room and then the following night another. I asked to switch rooms due to this and there was yet another that night in the new room and again the following night. They helped kill the roaches but weird there were so many! Otherwise the breakfast was great, and the jacuzzi I wish they would leave on for guests to use. But if you ask to have it turned on they do so (just take about an hour to heat up). Pool is small and is more of a dipping pool. Location is PERFECT! Staff is AMAZING!

OVER CHARGED

Posted Mar 21, 2017
Nice hotel however we were woken up 10.30pm after along 24hr journey. To be asked where our other room guests were. They informed us that we had booked two rooms for 4people. The manager had no english ,they said they sent an e-mail to Expedia. I wanted a copy of the e-mail but no luck. The receptionist said we will be charged one night not two.On my return home they have charged me $223.49. In January we were charged $319.84 for 2 rooms and breakfast. Please reply to this e-mail as I would like an explanation. Thanking you Derek Hewitson

Dear Guest; we want to make clear that did not make any extra charge. We did charge you for the two reservations you made. You mistakenly made a duplicate reservation and did not inform us nor Expedia about it. We held the two rooms for you as our contract with Expedia demands. We are obligated to fulfil the numbers of rooms that they inform us on each reservation. If Expedia or the hotel is not informed about a duplicate reservation or request cancellation; the room night is lost and it becomes a No Show paying the penalty fee, according to the contract accepted at the moment of booking. Hope this clarifies your doubts about the charges; we remain at your service..

Highly Recommend: Great Location + Staff!

Posted Mar 21, 2017 on Hotels
Duque was wonderful! Amazing location in Palermo Soho walking distance to excellent bars, restaurants, parks and sights. Rooms were quite small, but the complimentary breakfast and friendly staff (with great local recommendations) more than made up for it. We would definitely stay here again!

Amazing staff, perfect location, close to many amazing restaurants and shops. We enjoyed our stay here. I would recommend if you like to be away from busy downtown and close to a real neighborhood.
