Down from my last stay there

Have previously really enjoyed this hotel but this trip was somewhat disappointing. It's still a nice hotel with gracious, helpful staff and very good amenities, and I'd consider staying there again, but I can't rave about it as I've previously done. Both beds were so soft this time that they were difficult to sleep in comfortably, and the cot they gave us for my son felt like a sheet over metal coils. He's over 6 feet, and still opted to sleep on the short couch rather than the cot. There was also one day we did not go out till noon and when we came back at the end of the day, maid service had not cleaned the room. I checked with the front desk and was told someone should have gone back to the room after we went out, and they apologized for it not happening. It wasn't a huge deal but it would have been nicer had it been cleaned. We also chose to not use the pool because of its location. It's across from the main entrance of the hotel and has parking on three sides of it. It will do if you must go in, but it doesn't exactly embody a Florida feel. These were the downsides for me but I do want to end on a positive note since I think the hotel does deserve it. We really appreciated the layout of the suites in this hotel, it was clean, it felt safe, the complimentary buffet breakfasts were fun, the 24 hour 'convenience store' and complimentary 'dvd' rental were a plus, and the exercise room and laundry facilities were clean and well kept.
