Very cute place to spend a few nights

Pros: The grounds, pond, restaurant.
This place is an adorable oasis within walking distance of great restaurants and nightlife. The best part about it are the grounds, which feel like something out of The Secret Garden. Worst part being that the walls between rooms are paper thin and if you have anyone loud next to you, you're going to hear it. Also, it's very close to the train, so bring ear plugs for when it blows by in the middle of the night for 10 minutes.

Sleeping surrounded by lush tropical forest

This is a quiet retreat but within a 5 minute walk to all the action and restaurants. The rooms have comfortable beds and linens, refrigerator, Keurig coffee maker and patios. Theme style rooms feel somewhat retro and can be dark but the outside gardens draw me back to staying again and again. Dinner at one of the tables located around the trees and ponds is a romantic experience.

Private, tropical oasis

Pros: The hotel has a diffeernt atmosphere from large chains. It is very centrally located yet seems like it could be on a tropical island.
Cons: Better lighting is needed on the stairs. We had to check out early due to our flight. The staircase didn't have a light making it a little dangerous.
Location: You are able to walk to many restaurants and shopping places. There are many art galleries down PINEAPPLE section as well as a nearby theatre.
The hotel is a very short walk off Atlantic Avenue. The grounds are beautiful with lush tropical plantings and fresh water ponds. Other than the sounds of occasional passing trains, the room was very quiet. Our unit had a small balcony/deck equipped with a small table and two chairs. This area was screened from below with bamboo plants and was a great place to relax while reading or sipping a beverage. The hotel has a high end restaurant that seemed very popular. (we did not dine there). Tables are scattered on pathways around the main building. The tables are lighted from overhead lanterns as well as candles. It looked like a romantic setting for a special occasion. The lobby provides muffins, fruit and coffee in the morning. Our room also had a kitchenette and coffee maker. Please note that ice is readily available but one orders it from the desk as the hotel does not have an ice machine near the accommodations

Fantastic Location and Cool Quarters!

Cons: A pool would really have been nice.
Arrived a bit early to Sundy House and decided to try my luck by seeing if they would hold my bags at registration so I could grab a bite for lunch. To my surprise, they offered to check me in and quickly offered me my room key. Stayed in Room 4- which is really a townhouse with all sorts of great, quirky touches. Rooms were clean and cute- and the bed was super comfy. Nice balcony view over the gardens with the sound of water filtering through the bedroom. Only downside (and NOT Sundy House's fault) is the train blows through several times late evening and early morning, horn proudly announcing it's arrival. For a weekend stay- no biggie! Recommend for sure- GREAT value for the money!

Super place, awesome location and very comfortable and clean. Very unique and private with the garden setting but accessible to all Atlantic Ave has to offer. Would stay here again for sure.

Late arrival, not a problem!

I had planned to get there early enough to have dinner but did not arrive until 10:30. Fortunately, the front desk was ready for my late arrival. They were ready for my late arrival and helped me check in quickly. My room was spacious and immaculately clean. While I had toured the property previously this was my first stay over night. I was not disappointed. I would go again and will plan my stay to arrive early enough to enjoy the bar and restaurant. Just two blocks from Atlantic Ave. shops and restaurants. go and enjoy!

Pros: Our first 2 times there was great, very disappointed especially after waiting to go on vacation there for 4 months.
Cons: Take care of the issues mentioned above.
Location: Nice.
1. There were 2 weddings on a Saturday, I think the hotel should have mentioned that. 2. Limited room in the restaurant. 3. People singing, smoking, yelling and running around till 2am. 4. My room was next to the stairs going to the second floor, people up and down all night. 5. The pool was full of decaying leaves and fish, could not use it. 6. Wedding party around pool, could not use it even if the hotel removed the dead fish. 7. The room was musty/humid, had to keep the air conditioner on all the time, it was like a meat locker. 8. Asked for change of $5 to use in parking meter at beach, the front desk said they had no change and directed me to a diner 3 blocks away.
