Nice hotel close to sponge docks

Posted Sep 5, 2017
Pros: The location, people behind the desk, the view of the water and the restaurant and the restaurant owners. The way the hotel was set up
Cons: The rooms could use some updating, the outside could use power washing and painting
Location: The location is great and very close to the sponge docks. Plenty of choices for places to eat outside the hotel but you probably won't want to :) .
The stay was very pleasant. We had a great room with a view of the lake. The lady who cleaned our room, Lily was also amazing. We walked in our room after a day at the sponge docks and she had made the cutest dog out of towels. When we walked in the bathroom there was a swan and a seashell all made out of towels!! Same for the second day cute animals made out of towels. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean with a big balcony. The staff were very friendly and helpful also. There is also a restaurant and bar in the hotel called the Branded Buffalo. The food was excellent and the owners and the wait staff were so nice and friendly. Our room also had a little fridge, and microwave which is always a plus. This hotel has an exercise room which we didn't use and a pool and Jacuzzi. I was a little disappointed by the pool because it was dirty although they did clean it on Monday when we left. I was also disappointed in the Jacuzzi because it wasn't working. The water was hot but the button to turn on the jets was missing. The hotel could also use some updating and maybe power washing and painting on the outside but all in all I would definitely stay here again!!! The big upside is the people at the desk. the cleaning people and the restaurant.

great location, nice people But........

Pros: Staff was very personable and friendly and the location on the water is excellent
Cons: the restaurant and better room checks before check-in
Location: Located on U.S 19 in Tarpon Springs it is within a short driving distance of just about every attraction in Pinellas County,
the Hotel itself was ok, it is located in a great area in Tarpon Springs and the staff that I dealt with was very nice. on the negative side, I checked in 10 minutes early and they charged me a fee and after I checked out they put a charge on my card for a desk that was broken when I checked in. If you are having an event do not use the restaurant, they cannot handle it, for our event they had 3 people working in the whole restaurant, took forever to serve our food and it was bad.

Just a room

Posted Aug 18, 2017
It was just a room to me and could have been better. Ithe shower head had no pressure and just poured on my head. This was disappointing because when you stay in a hotel you want a good strong shower experience. You don't want to wish you were home. Carpets were tacky and gummy. Definitely a mold/mildew issue. I never got to the pool because it closed at 9:00. There was no continental breakfast because they suggested the reseraunt on site which was run down , dark and everything was sticky to the touch! So I spent most of my time at Starbucks.

LOOK ELSEWHERE

Cookie cutter rooms. Carpet was well worn, ceilings dingy- showed signs of water leaks. Had a musty smell. Bathroom fixtures rusting. Beds just a little more comfortable than a dorm room bed. Better choices for the money elsewhere.

BEWARE NOT ON A LAKE !!!

Posted Jun 11, 2017 on Hotels
I was looking for a nice clean stay on the water in Tarpon Springs area. The Vista is not on a Lake, but a dirty canal and VERY BUSY HWY 19. The noise was unbelievable. The Hotel lobby was nice, but don't go to close to the on site restaurant! Outside walk ways, doors and glass filthy. Went inside and LOST my appetite immediately, dirty dirty, and the prices of the food was outrageous! I give the Vista Hotel 2 stars. I was totally mislead and disappointed.

I chose the hotel because the pictures of the place looked really nice .a nice clean canel going to lake tarpon and nice size rooms . All a lie the canel was a swamp . The room was small no couch or comfortable chair to watch tv . So l checked out right away and the charged my credit card aas soon as i checked in even when I said the room smelled and it was not even close to the pictures on the website

It's on Lake Tarpoon and all the rooms seem to over look a small marina attached to the hotel. The room was comfortable and quiet. It's on the highway, which felt a bit restrictive (I didn't feel comfortable walking anywhere), but for an overnight stay it worked well for me.

Viva La Vista

Great "old Florida" feel. Great location/view of wildlife from balcony. Except for the difficult-to-open/close slider to balcony a 5 star rating. Would not hesitate to stay there again or recommend to friends.
