Nettes Personal, gutes Frühstück, schlechtes Motel

Schade, wir hatten uns auf unseren Aufenthalt in Palm Springs gefreut, aber waren dann letztendlich froh, dass wir dort nur eine Nacht verbringen mussten. Das Motel ist für eine Nacht auch nur hinnehmbar gewesen, weil wir das Zimmer wechseln durften. Das ursprünglich zugewiesene Zimmer war eine dunkle Besenkammer mit Bad, in der es schrecklich chemisch gerochen hat. Anfangs dachten wir, der Geruch verfliegt, wenn wir lüften. Da er aber nach unserer Abwesenheiten (Abendessen und Pool) nicht annähernd besser war, beschlossen wir, dass wir dort nicht schlafen können. Wir wollten nur kurz duschen nach dem Baden im Pool, aber die Dusche ging nicht an und dann kroch eine Kakerlake in unserem Zimmer herum. Ich habe den Frontdesk-Mitarbeiter informiert (ich glaube er hieß Ferdinand oder Fridolin), dieser kam auch gleich mit, um sich das Zimmer anzusehen. Er war wirklich sehr nett und bot uns sofort ein neues Zimmer an. Dieses Zimmer war dann größer, heller, sauberer und ohne Getier und Gestank, dafür aber mit funktionierender Dusche. Das Bett war auch bequem. Alles in allem ist das Hotel einfach in die Jahre gekommen und müsste dringend renoviert werden. Das Frühstück war gut ausgestattet, und wird am Pool eingenommen, was mir gut gefallen hat. Probematisch war nur, dass es etwas zuwenige Tische gab für alle Gäste und man kurz warten musste, bis was frei wird. Leider war das Hotel auf unserer 23-tägigen Reise das schlechteste. Den Preis zahlt man hier nur für die Lage.

Horrible Air Conditioning...no wireless connection

I was never able to get online in Rm. 426 using the Best Western "wireless" system, even with a desk person who came to my room to try, unsuccessfully himself. The air conditioner had a sign where the controls had been originally that said, "this unit is controlled from a remote location". There was a thermostat on the wall that never lowered the room temp under 78. That's fine for people who live here and 90% of whom also use ceiling and floor fans. It was so hot in my room that I called the front desk at 1-2 AM, unable to sleep. The lady at the desk was very nice but her suggestion was move everything to another room instead of sleeping in the one I had been assigned. She also said I could try finding the reset button, pushing it and seeing if that helped. NOTHING helped. Terrible stay and my only positive is that I only needed the room for one night. This Best Western is definitely not my ''Best' hotel stay.

Pros: Good location. Good air conditioning. Nice pool. Decent breakfast.
Cons: The walls in the bathroom were a little old looking yet clean. Limited parking-one night I had to park in the front driveway.
Location: 1 1\2 hours from Salvation Mountain. 1 hour from Joshua Tree Nat'l Park. Lovely art museum in town.
Comfortable stay for 9 nights. Polite housekeeping ladies. Nice, secluded pool with plenty of space. Near downtown and other amenities.

Check-in and check-out were quick and easy, staff was friendly, room was clean, cozy, and very quiet! I was afraid it was going to be too noisy being in between two rooms in around a few others in a cul de sac type of hall, but it was extremely quiet. Room was clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay there again.

Good for the price

Staff was very nice and attentive. The room was very clean and stocked. My only complaint would be that you can't control the AC unit in the room. I know it's meant to conserve energy and such, but it was 115 degrees when we were there and the room was still super stuffy! Even a ceiling fan would have helped a ton.

Hotel Room was OK, but the hotel was not handicapped friendly, there was a small service elevator you could use if the employees were not using it. The halls were very narrow, and when the maids cart was in the hall It was impossible to get past it in a walker. The free breakfast was at the pool, but no one told me there was a set if steps to get to it, Impossible in a walker. The room must not been cleaned very well, as we went to put our things in the dresser we found a computer left by the previous people. we notified front desk and they came and got it.

Pros: Convenient location, cleanliness, breakfast and friendly staff!
Cons: Floors!
Location: Oh, goodness...great proximity to everything!
Only problem was that we were on the ground floor (two weeks). I think the laminate floor was the reason we seem to have had an elephant staying on the floor above us for a few days. Then, we had someone who seemed to walk around at all hours of the night. I will definitely book a 3rd floor room next time. Otherwise, everything was wonderful, and we will book there again. :-)

The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was roomy. The staff was helpful and friendly.
