Excellent

Our 6th stay here. We love the CPH. Quiet, attentive and just enough vibe to keep it interesting. Great location! Walkable to many restaurants and shopping. If you like to lounge by the pool with a cocktail and read a book, this is your stay!

Boutique, old school vibe but...

Posted Mar 17, 2017
Pros: Restaurant is fun, grounds are very pretty
Cons: Rooms are dark, some are very small
Location: Easy walk to great restaurants
I have very mixed feelings about writing this review. I have stayed at the Colony Palms several times, always for the location, old Palm Springs feel, and beautiful grounds, but the rooms and front desk are a different story... Most recently we stayed for three nights (with fees, etc, averaging $500 a night -- the last night we stayed was Friday when the room rate before taxes/fees was a whopping $599). We had booked what the hotel says is a standard room. Upon questioning we found out that the hotel has only five "standard" rooms, which kind of makes you question their use of that term. The room was really small and dark. As an example, the closet measured approximately 18 inches wide. Also the room had pocket doors leading into the bathroom that were very unwieldly and the built-in dresser drawers stuck. We asked about the room twice and were shut down very quickly and told quite haughtily that we had not booked a luxury room. Our final night, when we were leaving to go out for the evening, we were told we could upgrade, but by then we had no time to pack and unpack. The hotel comped us $50, but that's not really so much in the scheme of the total charge. Unfortunately I always have noticed this disconnect on the part of the staff. The wait staff and housecleaners are very friendly, but the front desk always tends toward the cold side. Is it really that hard to say 'welcome to our hotel' or 'welcome back" to a returning customer? Next year we'll stay somewhere else.

Thank you for your review. We are currently in our high season. When we are fully booked we have no wiggle room to upgrade or move you to another room. We are more than happy to upgrade our guest when we have rooms available to upgrade to. We hope to get a chance to welcome you back in the future. Please contact me directly and I will be happy to assist you in a future accomidation Regards Zachary Cordero Revenue Assistant Manager

Decent hotel just west of downtown

Posted Feb 27, 2017
Pros: The restaurant
Cons: The valet service
Check in was a pleasant experience. The check in time is 4 pm. Which I would say is late. They have complimentary valet parking. That is nice, except that there is only one person doing the valet parking, so there is some wait time. The surroundings inside of the hotel nice. The restaurant is highly rated and I would agree with that. We had booked a room with a king size bed. The room and the bathroom were generously proportioned. The reason for a four star is the location on the room, which was overlooking the back street and got noisy in the morning by 7 am. Since the hotel is about half or so mile from the hustle and of the downtown area. Not much to do in the walking distance. All in all the hotel is good and would recommend it to all

Tranquil Oasis in Palm Springs

Posted Feb 14, 2017
Pros: Convenient to town, yet quiet.
Cons: They have it all right.
Location: Many restaurants and shops are within easy walking distance.
My wife and I spent six days at Colony Palms. Essentially this two-story hotel surrounds the facilities which include a large pool, hot tub and first rate restaurant and bar. The hotel has been lovingly maintained over its eighty year life and includes very attractive landscaping. Colony Palms has retained the feel of the past without any sacrifice to the usual modern amenities: free internet connectivity, spa services and excellent HiRes TV. The staff is highly responsive and pleasant. Room service promptly attended to our needs. Bikes are available at the front desk. Parking is generous, One can see the nearby mountains from many parts of the property. But perhaps the best feature of Colony Palms Hotel is the serenity one feels in the midst of Palm Springs busy environment. One feels cloistered, yet the "action" is nearby and several fine eateries are within easy walking distance.

A Palm Springs Oasis!

Posted Nov 26, 2016 on Hotels
This was a fantastic find! My family, as well as another, booked three nights here in late November. The weather couldn't be better. The pool is very large, heated and nice! The bar and restaurant are adjacent to the pool area which made everything convenient, easy and relaxing. Excellent cocktails and bar menu. Breakfast by the pool looking at the mountains was a dream. Highly recommend. Rooms are spacious, stylishly decorated and clean. The bathrooms are exceptionally large and really nice too! The bed was super comfy, lots of pillows and cozy sheets. Staff very friendly, everyone was in a great mood. I needed this getaway and truly feel relaxed and recharged! Wonderful!
